Are Colony and Kisano canon?

Like the title says. I’m wondering if they’re canon like if they’ll appear in the story dlc because it would be so cool to hear Colony comanding troops or talking to Atriox about the ark and such. Also it would be cool to see a awesome rallying speech with Kisano.

Only time will tell if 343 decides to make them cannon. then again they did just add sgt johnson too. wonder if theyll bring him back again besides being dlc

Current Halo Wars 2 DLC canon.

  1. Forge and Johnson are dead. Nothing will bring them back unless 343i use them as a simulation in War Games.
  2. Forges Warthog, and Johnsons Mech are canon, but are not piloted by their respected leaders in-universe in 2559.
  3. The Grizzly, Colossus, and Mantis are used by the Crew of the Spirit of Fire.
  4. Kinsano and Colony are canon. Including their units.

Now if 343i/CA use them in campaign DLC we cant be certain. But it would be rad to see.

343i said that the leaders and their units are cannon (except of course, Sgt. Forge and Sgt. Avery mother-yoink-ing Johnson)

And as CIA391 said, the dead leader’s units are cannon as well.
So. since the Banished might appear in Halo 6, maybe we can fight against Colony or Shipmaster insert Sangheili name here. The future leaders that are to come will be cannon (unless they’re already dead lol), including they’re units.

In the ViDoc they said they were new characters to the universe so I’m guessing they’re canon.

Yes. In fact I am about 70% sure that we will be playing as Kinsano vs Colony in the 2 mission expansion fighting over the Keyships. (that s is there for a reason BTW :O)

I’m so happy that Colony is canon. Such an amazing idea, and I’d love to see a Hunter pair be made into an actual character in the games or expanded media. The Hunters, along with the Drones and Jackals (especially Skirmishers) I feel are critically neglected in Halo’s story.

Yeah they have mentioned that there is going to be some extra campaign missions. Called Operation Spearbreaker or something like that. In the Johnson Livestream Sketch mentioned that they weren’t ready to talk about it yet. So my guess is that it will be revealed at E3.

As for why these two? They’re the only two canon characters introduced and Colonies bio indicates that he has his own independent designs on taking the Keyships. The name “Spearbreaker” implies destroying some sort of pre-emptive attack on an enemies weapons to disable them. So they send Kinsano to burn out the worms. Seems like a pretty reasonable mini story to address in two missions.

I really hope it isn’t just two missions. (And that the Keyships aren’t destroyed.)

Yes, it would seem that they are.
