Are Assassinations just, Boring?

Since assassinations were put into the game, many people have changed their playstyles to seek for these moments of glory. Halo 5 has greatly expanded these assassination options in the form of REQ CARDS where you can now choose what assassination you will perform (That is if you’re lucky enough to receive one of these cards). But something that has bothered me with assassinations since Halo 4 was “Why do we only ever use our Knife to assassinate?”. I mean the whole Stabby stab stab thing is cool and all, but I think that an assassination doesn’t just have to be with a knife. think how cool it would look to kick someone down then aim a magnum to there head as they turn and face you. then you just put a finger to your lips (helmet) and Bang. Just an idea. Think of the variety of assassinations that would come with this, the possibilities are endless. Anything could be done from grabbing someone and unloading a SAW clip upwards into their head, to using a sniper rifle as a baseball bat. I hope I am not the only one who would like some Weapon variation with assassinations, and if you have any other possible ideas please leave a comment describing it.

Team Raven

Only like 1 third is knife assassinations and for the most part they are common unlocks.

And the weapon based assassinations would be cool though. But sniper as a baseball bat? No.

Also. We don’t need your “Team Raven” signature at the bottom.

you know i actually agree with the weapons involving the assassination

like how you use the flag to assassinate someone

i do like the more physical ones like And Stay Down and BackBreaker because they dont involve the knife

i do remember in the reach days people asking for a knife like CoD to use so they just added it to the assassinations

now for honest opinion

adding the extra shooting and graphically violent assassinations would warrant an “M rating” from ESRB rather than the T rating it got from the lack of blood and swearing

I appreciate the feedback, and the sniper as a baseball bat was more for comedic effect.

And my “Team Raven” Signature was more for me than for others. it was a way to “Sign” the post for myself as I like to be somewhat formal. sorry if you don’t like it, but it can be easily ignored.

Thank you for the feedback, Stay down is personally one of my favorite assassinations right behind Get Low which I currently have. But I do believe that most of these assassinations could be implemented without tipping the Rating to an M (Which I personally don’t think would be that bad, I was a little confused when I first saw that Halo 5 was rated T). there are some assassinations in the game that are fairly violent, more so than the rest, the one that stands out the most is Shove It where you take the enemy Spartans Knife, stab them in the face, then knee it into their skull. I’m fairly certain unloading some clips into someone’s head would be fine in a game where you… well unload clips into peoples heads. but in the end I appreciate that you took time to respond to my Post.

well yes but ESRB has certain criteria for the difference between T and M and i think the lack of swearing in campaign/AIs and the lack of blood in MP brought it down

but then again i play a JRPG rated T on my DS that is full of swearing (a few of the big 4 included) and cleavage…

Needs more wrestling moves assassinations

And a hot chick pops out of your suit and has cleavage and cuts the dudes head off with a sickle!

They have a lot of assassinations that don’t use a knife.

I leave for 5 minutes and this Gem is created… Thank you for your contribution to the human race… I salute you sir.

I use Get Low. You break their back by stomping them to death. Also it looks like your Spartan is dancing while they’re doing it.

Don’t forget Stay Down either. Your Spartan kills the other by putting it’s fist through their face.

Wait is the 3DS game you mentioned Stella Glow? I have that lol

So you just magically pull the weapon out of nowhere?

I was thinking if possible, if you have the weapon out then you do its assassination. If not you do the default.

Add then people would complain that they ripped off Gears of War.
I’m not saying I don’t like it. I do. But people love to find new things to yoink about.

Also there are flagsasinations and in H4 I did the oddball assassination once. Those are botH pretty cool

I would think that a Spartan would like to keep it simple - smack them in the back and break their spine at the neck with the butt of your gun. People needed things to be fancy for whatever reason. ODST would’ve been a cooler game with animations, where you’d mount the brute and maybe stab them a few times in the neck and chest; man vs 800lb gorilla style.

Otherwise, the assassinations now make very little tactical sense and take waaaaay too long to execute. I don’t find them fun and I definitely don’t do them too often. I can recall once when I went up against two guys though, managed to assassinate the other then turn around AND get the Reversal on him because he didn’t know how to shoot me (or something).

In short: canonically, I disagree with 90% of the assassinations.
Gameplay wise: I disagree with 50% of the assassinations. They’re silly and fun 50% of the time, but they’re going to get you killed the other 50% of the time.

All I want to know is why are there no -Yoink- Bayonet assassinations? No seriously, I’ve tried we got Dark Knight references, Piledrivers, Flag Assassinations, but no Bayonet?

I think they want to keep them cool, but middle-of-the-road for a early teen audience, more like wrestling moves. I doubt you will ever see an Assassination where you put a gun in their mouth, etc. I don’t think they are going for that in Halo as it’s a bit overly violent. That’s more of a GTA or Mafia type of thing.

There are enough assassinations…

All of your ideas are down-right silly.
