Better get comfy with campaign then. Also I’ve never liked 4v4 sweat matches in Halo. If anything go B2B…more players anyway and vehicles to help even the odds.

May just be the people you’re playing against - I’m playing on an XBOX 360 controller and still able to keep up mostly… but it is pretty crazy how intense the matches immediately were. You can tell people have really been getting ready to play arena against other humans.

I would not call the population pool a “social” pool in the context of halos use of the terms. I also never really agree with the idea that a game is ingerently sweaty as I can call any round sweaty if another team is doing good.

your then also ignoring the reality that the people playing are pvp fans and prob are pretty good at it. Timing really pushes out a lot of the more “casual” croud which is going to push games to a more sweat zone. That isnt an indication of sbmm
If you played games against bots, they have some data to put together a SBMM profile on you. - Since it’s a technical test, I 100% imagine that even if this is being termed “social slayer” as what they’re previewing, they are running their competitive tracking algorithms in the background for match making. Otherwise how are thei going to test that?

It absolutely does it stored on your activision account
To be fair everyone who is playing Halo right now is mostly PVP players and big fans of the game. It does not surprise me that a lot of my games feel sweaty, I hope they don’t add a hardcore sbmm in public games like other games which ruined the whole point of casual play. Anyways it is normal that this happened but I am sure once the full game comes out it will be much more casual since everyone playing right now is a hardcore halo fan.

That is what im trying to figure out is this because there are only tryhards playing PVP ATM or is it SKBMM
your limited time spent playing this game has been against bots, that while pretty well programmed are still predictable and considerably worse at threat assessment, deception, and varying tactics than human players
the game operates differently to past Halo titles in a number of ways (possibly more similar to 5, I wouldn’t know) - some things like radar being waaaay less helpful and lack of melee lunge have got me killed a few times, that’s for sure, neither of which were as noticeable with bots
it’s a tech preview, you’re gonna get iffy things going on with bugs, non-final implementations, lack of optimization
likely lag due to lack of optimizations for engine and servers, relatively small and likely fairly spread out matchmaking pool
as people are saying, the people who have signed up for this are at least reasonably dedicated to the Halo games, and the ones playing it constantly even more so, so the average player in the flight will likely be noticeably better than the true ‘average’ Halo player
Or it could be that they went way, way, way out of their way to import MMR from other Halo games and systems explicitly for this flight - nay, not even the whole flight, just this final period where PVP is available! - just so they could match you, explicitly you, in to unwinnable games.
I just signed up but I can’t wait to get nice and sweaty playing Halo again. The adrenaline really makes me sweat, and gives me insane body odor. my forehead is gonna be so greasy too. can’t wait

This is gross, but is also an accurate description of me after like 2 hours of H5 competitive arena. I expect the same will be true for Infinite
