Are all playlists in halo reach dlc required. i was playing last night on living dead and am now get the message one or more players is missing the maps or whatever. at this point i have no interest in buying dlc’s and just wanted to come back and play zombies with some friends.
No. If you don’t have the DLC, it’ll say you’re missing the required maps, but you can still play the game. You aren’t missing out on much if you just want Living Dead.

No, in fact, DLC is required in a very small amount of playlists on Reach, it is simply saying they don’t have the reccomended DLC, you should still be able to play without it.
i have tried a couple times but it wont let me click start game its grayed out and saying im missing maps still.

You have to download them in order to play them. Whoever says that you don’t need the maps to play doesn’t know how to play video games. Uh, no. They’re not required to play. They’re required to play Squad DLC and the Anniversary playlists. But for Living Dead? Nope, they’re not required.

They’re recommending it to you. You can still play it, but more maps can be played in it if you have the DLC.

Eh, wrong. You do not need dlc maps to play, they are not “required”. If a dlc map comes up on a vote list, and any one player in a match does not have the DLC, other non-dlc maps will be offered in a new round of voting. If everyone has the DLC map, then yes, that map can be selected but the odds of every player having dlc is very very low.
You do NOT need DLC to play. DLC is not required to play the maps that came with Reach.
Please do not give people the wrong impression that they must buy DLC to continue playing Reach MM. DLC is NOT a requirement, it is an OPTION. If all the players in a MM party happen to have the DLC then that map may be voted for and played. If any single player in a party does not have the DLC, then a new non-dlc vote will pop up.

ive played it again since. but again for some reason sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. i dunno if its just my disc or something tho. and when it works it says the maps are recommended and the start buttong is clickable. meanwhile when the start button is grayed out (for some unknown reason) it says one or more players does not have the required maps to play.

Could it be that some of the maps on your disk aren’t loading correctly?
