So I’m reading the Fall of Reach and I noticed that there seems to be a continuity error with First strike regarding the number of missiles in a pod of a Paris frigate. In the FoR the Commonwealth has 30 missiles a pod (with only 26 pods total) while on First Strike we get 8 to a pod, with other ancillary material putting the number of total pods on the class at 50 pods, so which one is right?, or are they both right and there is more to it.
Through the war,the ships recived a lot of upgrades without a change in the class.
So it can be possible that this is the case.

but then which one is the right one, is the Gettysburg in First Strike the odd one out with only 8 missiles per pod, or is it the Commonwealth in FoR the odd one with its 30 missiles per pod, I mean we know that there are also oversized pods that come on Destroyers, could it be that the ones found on the Commonwealth were the oversized kind?

Two sources stated that the standard frigate carries 30pods.
Also regarding to the Gettysburg,it fighted before First Strike and as it got damaged that would explain why the Gettysburg only had 8 pods that are usable.

You want to know the sources?
Halo nation and Halo wikia.
And I know that one of them isnt really accurate.

I never bother with Halo Wikia just for how unreliable it is, I looked at Halopedia and they never linked to a source for the 30 missiles per pod and in the talk page it seemed that someone just decided to assign it because the Commonwealth has it that way, hence why I’m here.
Well now we have archer missiles shown in Halo Wars 2, can’t we just count them? We see in the prologue mid level cutscene that the Spirit of Fire fires a salvo of Archer missiles at the banished. I’m at work so can’t see how the visually depict the pod itself and the number fired. Alternatively if someone is good at analysing videos, surely you could take Archer Missile strike III leader power and count how many missiles land?

it shoots 5 per pod, tho it seems to be a different kind of archer as the number that comes down in gameplay is way bigger than the number shot in the cutscene, plus it is a different ship.
True, it is an old ship, and also the support ship rather than a frigate, but the Spirit of Fire went MIA from the rest of the UNSC back in 2531. The Commonwealth engaged the covenant ship in 2525 so the armaments should possibly be around the same version (if standardised) as the missile pods on the Spirit of Fire. The general rule has been that games ar the highest form of canon, so was thinking the Halo Wars Archers may repesent the canon compliment per pod. Flimsy admittedly, but untill Warfleet comes out later this year, we’ll have to speculate and hope that maybe Grim will decide to write about it in canon fodder. Especially if they decide to add the ‘Leader Powers’ to Halo Ground Command.
I believe both are right. Archer pods, like most UNSC ordinance mountings, are completely modular, as long as you have the time and resources to replace and remount them. So a frigate could have have both amounts, depending on what job it was assigned to do.

but then which one is the Standard, I would love it if Grim could shed since light on this

I don’t think there IS a standard one. It might be completely modular, as in, the entire missile pod can hold a minimum or maximum number of missiles and the ship’s CO decides how much goes into each.
Grim light would be nice though, yes…
