What are Arby’s real intentions and plans in Halo 5?

Based on the trailers, he doesn’t seem to be too involved in the Guardian story arc. I think his main focus is on taking out the Didact’s Hand once and for all.

I’m guessing that he has his own problems and is happy to give Locke info on the Chief/Guardians in exchange for helping him out with his problem which may possibly involve the assassination of Jul 'Mdama. Which in turn would show the player how proficient Locke is at tracking and eliminating a target.

More or less, yeah.

So you think he’s really just a secondary character in the game for the purpose of delivering Locke to Chief and wishes to stay out of it? But there have been so many trailers almost centered around the Arbiter.

I do think that he’ll have a prominent role, but the campaign is already split between Fireteams Blue and Osiris, so 343 may not put as much focus on him.

I’m still skeptical about him…maybe he wants them to assist him in striking down Jul 'Damma or whatever his name is. But in one of the Halo 2: Anniversary trailers, the Arbiter’s ship displays a hologram of the a Guardian…
