arbiter neogaf comment while back

remember that comment on neogaf about the arbiter not being in the campaign and there was something about spartan ops? that comment was fake wasnt it, so there is still a possibility the arbiter may return, can some on fill me in on this neogaf comment situation?

i could see arbi bein in spartan ops what better way to fight the covenant then getting intel, tactics, etc from former covenant

Possibly. I forget where, but I think someone said that Splops (Spartan Ops) will sometimes feature some old time characters. Like Buck or past ODSTs, and yes, possibly Arby.

Yeah, that post was Photoshopped

Fighting Elites in the Campaign and Spartan Ops then having possibly friendly Elites pop up would be pretty jarring no?

Indeed!

Wouldn’t just be like the alliance in Halo 3. Though I do agree somewhat. It wouldn’t make a nice transition to throw a random Arbiter and some friendly elites into Spops without any lead up to it.

If there is some lead up to it, then sure. But I still think it would be awkward since 343i designed the Elites to look more monstrous and evil, thus making them fit better as enemies. I can’t see the Arbiter look like the Elites we see n Halo 4 working all too well.

Maybe it could work the other way. What with the Elite redesign, the Arbiter and his allies could have largely retained their Halo 3 look, thus making the two factions easily distinguishable. Vehicle colours could also be changed, or levels could be designed such that you never have enemy and friendly vehicles of the same type on the same battlefield.

True, the way the art is going with Elites, they look nothing less than viscous. The arbiter would most likely look much different than before. I wouldn’t really like the new arbiter look since I’m basing it off of these elites.

I don’t think having the bad Elites look bad and the good Elites look good would really work. That then leads to the question as to “Why are those Elites inherently monstrous looking and those Elites more so?”. Although the vehicle color thing I like, much like the green Phantoms in Halo 3 symbolizing the Arbiter and his forces.

Considering the situation, I don’t think we’ll see the Arbiter in the campaign.

We are stranded on Requiem, the Covenant forces there are a hostile faction, and then we have Prometheans. It just seems like it would be pretty challenging to fit the Arbiter in this part of the story.

Halo 5, more likely. It is likely that the Ancient Evil has escaped and is ravenging the Human population (Halo 5’s story gets “woese” before better in Halo 6). This could be an ideal time to fit him in, coming to Humanity’s aid.

Spartan Ops could work too. It is said we return to Requiem, but that doesn’t entirely mean we stay on Requiem the whole time. The team would have to get a little creative if Halo 5 was to be set on Requiem too. Perhaps we meet up with the Arbiter, fighting the other Covie factions as we try to uncover the secrets of the Ancient Evil. Or the Arbiter comes to Requiem later.

The only way I could see the Arbiter coming in Halo 4’s campaign is if its a big campaign. It’ll need a lot of time to introduce him into the situation and finish all the other important stuff like the Infinity, and might get really confusing for new guys when we have 2 types of Elites and Prometheans thrown into the mix.

I hope the Arbiter’s elites have at least slightly different armor then the Covy loyalists.

Actually I wouldn’t want Arbiter in the game because then they will have to make him look that ugly like the other Elites in Halo 4. He wouldn’t be that cute Elite with “Iron armour” any more. He would be a freaking monster.

Or I don’t know maybe its a different Arbiter.

> Or I don’t know maybe its a different Arbiter.

Doubt it. Even if Arbiter was dead, they just don’t hand the title of Arbiter down to anyone.

technically he shouldnt even be called the arbiter anymore as he is no longer part of the covenant
