Arbiter and Stasis

As many of us are aware, the Arbiter has a new mechanic in his kit called Stasis. A few of his abilities such as his stasis mines, field, and one of his ultimates, Mass Stasis, are based on this.

My question (if anyone could possibly know at this point) is what, exactly, is stasis?

We know for a fact they won’t be able to move and they can be damaged while in stasis. The question that will determine whether the Arbiter is a top tier, relevant leader, depends on the following:

Can an enemy in stasis still attack?

That’s what I want to know. Does anybody know yet? I’ve watched all E3 footage I could and don’t have the answer to this but maybe I missed something.

Thanks in advance.

Lol. I can see it now. Hey ally Atriox I just got my mass stasis back. You have your eradication ready?
Sure do.
Ok 3. 2. 1. Go!

And now you enemy has no army.

I think you just broke my brain.

hmm ill answer. Stasis units cannot attack or be teleported. Completely immobile and basically (stasis) in this case. Means the units/structure while in stasis is basically not there. while is stasis u are left with a shell that takes up space until the stasis timer is up. (as i always say) U dont have to beleive me because I wont be providing proof. This is however. How the game will be using stasis. Have a nice day ^^

So whats the difference, then, between that and a stun? Sure, you can teleport units that are stunned. I guess stasis sounds better than “Mass stun”

Holy crap, that might be too OP. But the enemy will probably be invincible in stasis so that people cant do this. Although i would totally use this strategy if its possible

stunned units can be hurt or have other abilities used on them. Stasis units/structures cannot be messed with by any ability or in any way.

I actually hope this is the case. If stasis units can be attacked, that would far and away be the best power in the game. This would also pair well with his passive healing leader power where when a power is used your units gain attack and speed with a little heal. So when someone drops an eradication on you, just throw stasis on your army. Come out the other side alive and stronger. Fingers crossed this is what they do.

Side note, you gonna post a video reacting to the much anticipated patch notes coming soon?

Well the description for the ability says:

“Place units within a large target area into temporary stasis to protect allies or neutralize enemies.”

Sounds to me like you can attack them.

Idk. Protect allies and neutralize enemies are very defensive words and don’t feel aggressive. To me that same wording sounds like units are safe when in stasis. I am curious however if you can stasis allies or does it just mean “oh no the enemy rolled up on my ally’s base, let me put his army in stasis until I can show up to defend the base.”

It’s going to be a interesting ability and even if abilities can’t be effective when they are in stasis they most likely will the second there out.

Learning the exact amount of time the enemy is in stasis you could still use eradication very effectively. Start eradication right before stasis drops and the main explosion hits right after.

That’s really cool. I hope it’s viable in blitz. So many things you can do, hopefully won’t cost too much

Any idea what his other abilities are? That description about protecting and stasis doesn’t sound very Ripa 'Moramee with all his HW1 rage and DPS abilities.

Yeah could be used to freeze enemies from contesting. Could be paired with shipmaster to teleport them away and then put them in stasis. It could also stop a fight until your ally gets to the point to help.

You could freeze all the units on op ridge until you get on top of them. Many strats could use this.

Probably a better counter to shipmaster’s glassing beam. All the original banished leaders have leaders powers that cost 60 energy and they’re all pretty great. They really messed up with colony though

sounds like they mean place ally or enemy units

with wat

Stasis usually means you cannot attack or be attacked. It’s like being removed from the game for a time, then put back when the stasis is over.

It’s probably meant to buy time for reinforcements to arrive (for Arbiter).

It’s a different game, but like in XCOM 2 (I’m imagining)

I’ve said it in another thread, but with his T3 leader power reduction (cost and cooldown), there might be a lot of stasis going down in late games.

by not putting Hunter’s Brand in blitz as a card.
