Curious to know what people think of Arbiter’s role in Halo 5 if he has one at all. Although we can assume he will have one, based on the Master Chief Collection/Halo 5 trailer. Also curious if anyone thinks their will be a battle between the Arbiter and Jul 'Mdama due to the fact that Mdama is the leader of the Storm Covenant who have battled humanity and sided with the Didact in Halo 4 where as the Arbiter has stayed true to his peace with the humans.
The respective positions of Jul M’Dama and the Arbiter, combined with the events of the books/Spartan Ops, sets the stage perfectly for a cinematic showdown between the two of them as part of the plot of Halo 5. I’m starting to see where the seemingly unattached events of the books and Spartan Ops are leading to for Halo 5.
I’ve never read the books, however I have looked up quick and very short summaries about the most recent ones. And if I recall correctly a radical sect of Elites on Sanghelios had banded together in attempts to assassinate the Arbiter which Jul had played a big part in.

yeah, he took part, but i wouldn’t say a big one.
without spoling too much, he has started he own “Cult”, more or less.
Hmm… pretty much destined too happen… just a matter of time.
The rivalry initially started in 2553, when Jul 'Mdama had questioned the motives of Humanity… and the time it took for them, to finally finish the Human-Covenant War. Jul 'Mdama having remain skeptical to rush into a onslaught rebellion, or new religious cult… he sought advice and council from fellow lords and kaidons. Jul 'Mdama had attended and union of the states of Sanghelios… whether the Human-Sangheili Peace Treaty was too continue or not. Having finally come to the conclusion that, Thel 'Vadam, would not rescind his alliance with Humanity… Jul 'Mdama sought to overthrow the Arbiter… who had large support from Sanghelios, and the only way for the Sangheili to discover Humanity’s treachery… was for the Arbiter to die. Thel 'Vadam having now been caught in a civil war… was in-need of Humanity more then ever. Jul 'Mdama had begun mass-recruiting for support against the Arbiter’s Forces… he discovered the warlike monks, known as the Servants Of Abiding Truth, lead by Bishop Avu Med 'Telcam… which would be the core movement, of the Sangheili rebellion.
After many small integral parts of both parties… in 2558, during the Battle of Ealen IV, the Arbiter was attacked, along with other diplomatic leaders. This Covenant Remnant (Mercany) Faction lead by Vata 'Gajat was… in-terms with Jul 'Mdama’s warband. And so the Arbiter is still constantly facing survival and the need for Humanity… Jul 'Mdama has alot of support, now more than ever with the Prometheans and ‘We have a Forerunner card’…
I believe we will see a fantastic cutscene or chapters about them… fighting, conversing… etc. We may even see a dramatic death scene… Jul is infected by the Flood Arbiter: WORTARGH! In honor brother… I release you from this curse! Energy Sword Slices Head
‘Didacts Hand’ Supreme Commander Jul 'Mdama
‘Arbiter’ Kaidon Thel 'Vadam
Thel’s role is going to be the guy that you let run into a group of enemies on LASO because he is invincible and Iron sucks.

Chief: “Arbiter! I choose you!”
Arbiter: “Wort! Wort! Wort!”
Chief: “Arbiter! Use distraction!”
Arbiter: “Wort?”
Chief dives behind a rock
OT: I think the Arbiter will mostly play a sort of ‘Head Guy’ role. As you play a Locke, On the trail of John, Arby will be in contact with you providing you with advice and Info.
At least, Thats what I think.
I have not read the books, but Jul 'Mdama was one of the 2 other elites in the H3 campaign right? I would love to see them do something with those guys. I also would love to see more of a focus on elites, but I know MC is what the majority want.
Although I’m sure that Jul will play a large role in Halo 5, I don’t think he’ll be the main focus in terms of being an antagonist.
In fact, Escalation looks like it’s setting up all-out war between multiple factions with each of them being good or evil in their own rights, which it looks like we’ll be caught in the middle of or in Locke’s/ONI’s case, exploiting.
In Halo 5, we won’t be fighting a particular villain, but we’ll instead be fighting the concept of war itself.
And we all know what’s going to happen if we continue to slaughter each other…
Flood.

Nope… he was never in Halo 3. The other two playable characters were Usze 'Taham and N’tho 'Sraom. With Arbiter Thel 'Vadam and the Master Chief John-117 being the othet two.
I’m hoping for arch enemy’s!! Could be really awesome for sure. I know I’m probably a minority but I thought halo 4 has the least engaging campaign so far, but after looking up the deeper details of the didact online and what happens after halo 4, I am really excited for halo 5s campaign. I just hope this time around everything is presented within the campaign so I don’t need to have extra knowledge to feel engaged.
