I made a map called Arbalest. It is a multi game-mode, 2-8 player (1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4) arena map.
Introduction
Arbalest is a 2-8 player arena map. It focuses heavily on map control and limited cover. Every 2 minutes a few set walls will sink into the floor making the map very dynamic. The map currently supports Slayer, Strongholds and CTF.
Map Design
Arbalest is a symetrical map with a teleporter at bottom mid that teleports you to the towers’ bottom levels. On the towers are guass turrets which are key power positions. To the right side of the tower is an invisible gravity lift that allows you to gain access to the towers’ top floors without the use of the stairs. A SPNKr spawns in mid and above is an overshield on overlook. The two nests watch over the rockets with sniper rifles and can even get a full map view on overlook. It takes 4-8 seconds to get to the opponent’s side of the map causing chaotic gunfights in each spawn.
Power Positions
Arbalest is all about map control. The map’s greatest power positions are Overlook/OS, Mid/Rockets, Pink Tower and Orange Tower. Rockets counters the towers, Towers counter Overshield and rockets and Overshield counters Rockets and the towers.
