I just read a thread where some guy was raging because Grifball now doesn’t feature rounds, and it made me hope that this might be the end of a majority of round-based Objective games.
I mean, I hate the rounds. I really do. They’re disruptive to the flow and speed of the game. I’d rather have a tank blast my Warthog-raid, or a sniper shoot me off my killing spree than the game itself telling me “Calm down and stop having all that fun, it’s time for round two!”. The only fun (to me) 1-Flag gametype is Neutral Flag simply because it has a nice flow, and that’s because it doesn’t feature rounds.
And as for Territories, I’d prefer an “Arathi Basin” (there’s the cause for the title!) version where there’s no rounds, but you try to hold the majority of the territories to earn points and finally win the game. Or we could just work with that version where it’s simply about holding the majority when the game’s timer runs out.
Eliminating the rounds simply increases the speed and flow of the game, and I know that round-based gametypes have been here for a very long time and that they’re here to stay, but I’m just saying I’d like to see less of them compared to normal matches.
TL;DR Me no like rounds, me want “Arathi Basin” in Halo 4.
p.s. I know that this thread was a lot less coherent than my usual nonsense, but I was eating breakfast at the computer whilst my girlfriend was pushing me out the door towards work.
