AR tuning

It feels like the AR is kind of over tuned. I’m seeing the majority of players passing up on BRs and Commandos, and opting to just use the AR. Not sure if the BR and commando needs to be buffed or if the AR needs to be nerfed. I personally think the effective range on the AR needs to be brought down a little. No reason an AR should be able to out shoot a BR in a medium range fight. At medium range, the AR can kill before the BR can even shoot 4 bursts.

With that said, I’ve never liked AR starts in any of the Halo games. As of right now, in my opinion, there is virtually no reason to pick up a BR or commando. They just aren’t better than the starting weapons except for long range, and even then, they aren’t that great. The AR is more than capable of shutting down a BR or commando at close - medium range, which is most of the fights on these maps.

The issue is mostly that the AR’s optimal TTK is so easy to reach compared to everything else, without it being slow enough. Creating a gun with no real weaknesses, at least not on the maps we’ve been playing on.

In BTB I think the BR and Commando in particular will see more usage. But 4v4s at this point might as well be BR/Sidekick starts, with the AR becoming a map spawn it’s so strong.

I really like it in this game, it feels like a nice step up from the Halo 5 AR. I really feel like 343 has improved the AR with every game they make. And personally from I’ve seen it’s the opposite, most people toss the AR for other weapons. And if they don’t have a BR a majority of them main the Sidekick, which I’m personally not a big fan of.

I feel punished every time I pick up the BR, AR is just OP
