AR starts wasn’t that bad in pervious games because…

This is laughable, can’t list one reason. If you have an opinion at least back it up with something. At least just say you like a BR more and not just mindless disagreement, I listed my reasons and you can’t give ONE?!

Isn’t a bullet hose and therefor is punished heavily for missing a shot. Boom, 1 reason why the BR is harder to use.

Except you can miss way more shots and still get the kill and in previous titles could still miss shots and out kill most guns and don’t have to worry about range except when going against a sniper but even then you can easily descope them. So I refuse to accept this as a valid explanation as to why the BR is harder to use. You have less to worry about when using a BR than an AR.

AR + melee kills the BR in close range in Halo 3. That is not the case in Halo 1, where it is never a good idea to use an AR. The AR is bad in both games, but it’s much more useless in Halo 1.

Based on our service records, a lot more than you, and at a much higher level of skill.

False, missing a single burst with the BR usually means death against most weapons when within close range.

All weapons descope the sniper so this point means nothing.

Not my fault you lack the ability to use basic logic.

Most other guns lack the accuracy and range to descope a Sniper. And it’s truly sad you guys really believe the BR isn’t busted in past Halos. You can’t name 1 other game where a gun with its stats would not be considered OP.

In the case of the H3 AR vs BR melee the way it usually plays out makes you wrong. In the case they see you first and some how you don’t see them on radar and don’t start backpeddling sure AR melee wins but they would have killed you with a BR anyways if they are any good. But if you see each other at the same time and back peddle you will win or at least kill each other. Not to mention if you see them first you probably kill the AR user before they get through half you shields if they are even close enough to do that.

It’s comical you guys think the H3 AR was anything less than the absolute trash it was and willingly turn a blind eye to the oppressive meta that is BR/DMR spawns.

H4 was probably your favorite Halo because you could choose spawn weapons and some people would choose AR, Storm Rifle, or suppressor which just meant more free kills for you.

Pro-tip. Don’t be a one trick pony.

All weapons can descope the sniper, the AR has always been a good option for doing it through volume of fire, simple logic.

H3 AR + melee > H3 BR or AR + nade > BR or AR + element of surprise > BR.

You’re just bad at Halo and don’t understand the game. Assuming I like H4 because I hate strong AR’s??? even though H4’s AR was very strong…

Ar starts are fine. Br starts would pretty much render all weapon racks pointless except power weapons. Why use any other gun if everyone starts with a br?

Because all other weapons would have some utility or combat role that the BR either can’t fill or doesn’t fill as well??? same reason you grab a shotgun or rocket launcher over a BR ( or with a BR ) you have two weapon slots for a reason, trying using it

So, the br should be a default weapon because it is so strong. Thats exactly why it shouldnt. Whats the point in having weapons laying around if everyone starts with the best weapon. You might as well have energy sword as a default.

The funny thing is that Infinite’s sandbox is the first one where this is untrue. That was the case for games like H2/H3, but there are several guns worth picking up in Infinite that are not power weapons (e.g. mangler, bulldog, heatwave, stalker rifle, shock rifle, needler, AR)

The BR isn’t strong, it’s the most consistent and highest skill ceiling weapon available so everyone uses it. The BR has never been the best weapon. always the most well-rounded weapon but never the best.

And because everyone thinks it takes the most skill, it should be a default weapon. I 100% disagree that the br takes the most skill. All thats different from the ar is more damage, less fire rate and less spread. On top of the massive aim assist the game has i think the br is overrated. If a weapon that takes the most skill should be a default weapon it isnt the br, It would probably be the mangler or stalker rifle. The br doesnt take anymore skill than most other weapons, it just has longer range with less spread.

I wasn’t talking about Infinite, Infinite’s sandbox is ruined beyond fixing at this point. Infinite’s BR is a laser while the AR is a random bullet hose.

It is fine as is. The AR/sidekick start is a great basic combo and i feel like i can actually contribute with it, and not have to abandon my team to find a better gun. The BR is powerful, if you are in the right position you can pick a target and most of the time they will not be able to flee before they are dead. Which in my opinion is the fault of the terrible sound system.

AR is too strong in every way, at the least needs it’s headshot multiplier removed and more base spread.
Sidekick is too random to be a weapon worth using, especially since it needs to be spammed at max bloom in order to compete with the AR.
BR is a hitscan laser that rewards bodyshots with headshots.
Bad game is bad as per usual.

The AR is fine. It is a close to mid range weapon that rewards surprise attacks, if a AR player catches you off guard you are done.

The sidekick lives up to its name.

The BR is a long range weapon that excels at the first strike, it is meant to be a sort of long range defensive weapon, not a rush in weapon like the bulldog or AR.

I think the biggest mistake players are making is assuming the BR should ace at every weapon role. The BR stands for Battle Rifle, the AR stands for Assault Rifle. The AR, as its name suggests, is meant for quick and decisive assaults on enemy players. The BR as its name suggests is meant to battle it out with other players. Think like, the ar would be compared to a fighter jet striking a military base. And the br would be a fighter jet dogfighting another jet.

Yeah, here we go with the stat insults. If you are a good player and i am a bad player, why are you the one complaining about weapon balance when i think the weapons are fine? Shouldnt it be the other way around, i should be the one complaining about losing to br users all the time.

“close mid long range”
these terms do not apply to Halo thanks to how Halo is designed, or as Halo was designed.

LMAO 80% of Infinite is just running at some dude while holding RT, zero counterplay since the combat range doesn’t allow you to disengage and you can’t outshoot the AR most of the time thanks to raw DPS.

ZZZzzzz…oh you were talking about real life info for a fictional video game…cringe…
