AR Starts on Highlands?

Hello 343 and fellow forum-goers,

I would like to preface this by thanking 343 for reinstating a DLC playlist. It was really annoying not being able to play on the maps I paid for.

My one gripe and my one desire:

Why in Darwin’s name is there AR starts on Highlands??? WHAT…

And my desire is for the TU settings to be applied to the playlist.

Thank you all and have a wonderful Friday.

I believe there is a DMR Slayer gametype option in that hopper. You just have to vote for it and hope that others do too.

IMO AR starts helps put an emphasis on objective game types and vehicle control.

This in no way means that AR starts need to be implemented into Slayer at all times, nor does it give anyone the right to complain about getting owned by DMR’s or vehicles. If you/ your team fail to capitalize on power weapons/ vehicles available to you than you simply are the lesser team, no need to complain. This is not directed at you OP but anyone that may complain about that.

Now if only I could play the Defiant maps…

No offense, but that’s not the point of this thread. There is a reason playlists like BTB only use DMR starts. DLC Squad uses large maps as well and DMR should be default.

This thread is not the place to discuss the teamwork or lack thereof created by AR starts.

I don’t think Highlands is the worst map to have AR starts. (Hemorrhage I am looking at you.) I do believe as was stated earlier that they are there because they are in the hopper. I am pretty sure a DMR start variant is there as well. I am not sure they can remove AR starts from just one map in a playlist. If they can I wouldn’t complain. First thing I do when AR is selected is find a DMR anyway.
Halo:Reach Playlists/Gametypes

Guys, it’s not as easy as, “Find a DMR on the map.” I mean, am I allowed to point out one small error in 343’s playlist implementation? I appreciate the playlist coming back and I’m playing it as we speak, I’m simply pointing out a small error with an easy fix.

I agree with the highlighted text.

Some people just like AR starts more than DMR starts. Don’t deny them their fun just because you have a different opinion.

I think if we had TU in Squad DLC, AR starts would be acceptable because in TU the pistol can be a force to be reckoned with in the right hands.

Who actually likes niche, CQC starting weapons on a semi-large, outdoor map?

The only fun thing I can think of is getting a DMR and having it feel like an easy to use power weapon.

lol derp starts on big maps.

Oh well, i guess it can’t be helped. There are some players (even if they are bad and tell you to adapt) who love to spray and pray. Can’t forget about them eh?

On a side note, i lol when players use AR (an inferior weapon) when compared to the OP pistol in Anniversary (even if it has rando spread >.<)

I normally don’t care if it’s AR-starts or not (I usually can just find a DMR if it isn’t), but I played AR-starts on Breakneck the other day. It was terrible.

Those huge maps definitely need DMR-starts!

Exactly! That’s the fun in it!

Wait, is he doing stuff for Reach now? I thought his work was great in Halo 2.
