Are you serious? One of the most memorable things people hated on in Halo 3 were the AR starts and now 343 decides to make that the ONLY OPTION in the CLASSIC playlist?! Are they trying to turn everyone away from Halo?
P.S The only reason people didn’t really complain about them in Halo Reach is because you also started out with a pistol that didn’t suck.
I’m ready for your hate.
He does bring up a point. Starting with automatics was a very heated topic in previous Halo games.
I agree that we should be given a Magnum as a secondary or a variant of the gametype with a precision weapon.
I loved starting with the Assault Rifle in Halo 3, more so than BR starts. I, for one, am completely happy with what Legendary Slayer seems to be so far.
Players should, AT LEAST, start off with a pistol as a secondary weapon. But, then again, I guess it depends on the map they’re playing on since they will probably have a different assortment of weapons placed on each map.
And I understand that. But you have to realize how big of a deal this was during past games.
You must atleast agree we should be given a Magnum as a secondary weapon yes?
Honestly the AR is a better weapon than it was in Halo 3, I hated BR starts in Halo 3 because the BR is as easy, maybe even easier as the AR to use, I’ve always thought it should be AR starts then the player picks up precision weapons, if you want BR starts play Throwdown
so 343 finally give us something we asked for… but they had to eff it up, it’s like they want us to complain.
nobody asked for AR only 343, nobody.
we just wanted slayer pro with radar on all the maps… that’s what we really want, but it’s like asking a bunch of monkeys

Yes, but it still is innacurate. Don’t forget though that BR starts were a problem in Halo 3 because it was OP. The Halo 4 BR is not.

Oh, I do realize that many people disliked automatic starts in past Halo games. Don’t get me wrong, while I did prefer automatic starts to precision weapon starts in Halo 3, and will probably do so again for Legendary Slayer, I want to see BR starts as well so that everybody is happy. It would be silly of 343 Industries to not realize this as well, since you’re right, it was a big problem in the past. More so in Halo 3 than Reach, of course, due to the Pistol in Reach actually being quite powerful.
So yes, you’re right, the bare minimum we should get is a Magnum as a secondary weapon. But, like Bravo mentioned, they’ll be exploring more possibilities as time passes by, and we’ll surely see more gametypes and updates to the Legendary Slayer playlist.
Either way, I’m just happy to finally see some good old classic Halo come back!
OH MY GOD. NO!
AR Starts is a good thing. Quit whining. People wanted classic Halo and now we finally have it.
Are we really complaining about AR starts?
We finally get a classic playlist with default starting weapons, weapons on map, and no AA’s or ordinance.
I am very happy with this news and could care less if we don’t start with a pistol.

It’s more balanced, it could use a RoF nerf

I personally don’t mind AR starts. But I want every corner of the Halo community to be happy. At the very least we should atleast be given a Magnum.
I am SO glad we get a classic playlist with AR starts. If you want BR starts, play any other bloody playlist. It’s nice to FINALLY have a social classic playlist. Don’t like ARs? Pick up a BR off the map! AR starts are as classic as you can get!
> it’s like they want us to complain.
Or maybe you guys just want to complain? People begged for equal starts and beggars can’t be choosers, be glad that they’re giving you a classic playlist in the first place.
I’m a BR lover. I was one of those voices in Halo 3 saying veto for BR’s.
I have no problem with the AR starts for Legendary Slayer. Halo 4 is the first halo game since CE where the AR (tight race with the H3 SMG) isn’t the most worthless starting weapon in the game. I hope they add a BR variant at some point but voting would need to be removed.

a playlist that nobody will play, because most people don’t use AR,and you’ll see it won’t have more than 1k people at once.
like people don’t like slayer pro because there’s no radar, if it had radar and more maps that playlist would have a lot of people. But no 343 won’t listen or it seems like a gigantic effort for them
They’ll see how this works. Their reason is to promote map movement, and not give everything a player needs to hold a position easily. If you want that rifle, you have your side’s supply. If it isn’t enough, take control of the enemy’s side.
I do feel we could use a Magnum and maybe BR/CC starts on some maps, but not all. They want active map control, and AR starts is one way to do it. If they feel BR starts is needed, they’ll throw them in.
Until then, learn to master the AR so you can get the early advantage, and learn the layout of where things are at the map.

You’re being generous with 1k people BR start or no BR start.
but buyers of the game can be choosers
