Lots of posts here have countered your arguments. Merely saying “that didn’t counter my argument!” doesn’t actually change the fact that it did counter your argument, my guy.

Okay, here’s one:
AR in its current state is a fully automatic weapon with generous range (you can shoot across bazaar) and it has ridiculously tight spread for a weapon that goes full auto at that range.
BR on the other hand, has a strong kill potential, but is limited by its own internal cooldown of how fast it can fire, so people can actually escape it if you wiff a few bursts.
AR also invalidates everything within its kill range, further encouraging players to not explore the sandbox, while the BR is strong at mid to long ranged, but does not necessarily overpower these other weapons in closer combat, a range where the AR absolutely dominates in.
So while having BR starts may give the player to desire to fill their 2nd weapon slot with something suited for closer ranges, an AR is already the perfect all rounder weapon, and all you need is a 2nd weapon to swap to incase you run out of ammo for the AR.
Weapons in question which fall into these situations are:
- Mangler
- Needler
- Sidekick
- Pulse Carbine
- Commando
- Heatwave
- Bulldog
completely agreed. everyone starting with a BR makes movement around the map so homogenized and also you don’t really have to worry about movement or positioning thanks to your hitscan 4-shot kill weapon. especially with the increased bullet magnetism on the BR.

Actually i have. Please read my prvious posts before saying silly things. The only statment you made that i belive is accurate is the second one about the br having good range but is limited by the fire rate. The AR at range is worthless and having it as the start weapon would encourage people to find a secondary that has range to prevent people from closing the distance.
Having AR as a starting weapon would open up the ranked game play to multiple styles of play vs what it is now which is focus on sight lines and only get good at fighting at range.
Watching a teammate die while you pelt bullets is not bad game design, it’s called being bad and having your teammate run out in the open while you were in a bad position.
Having the AR as a ranked weapon would only turn Ranked into a bootleg social where the AR is even more powerful thanks to a lack of radar. Ranked being focused on sightlines and gunfighting is the entire point of it’s existence and the AR takes any notion of gunfighting skill and throws it out the window because “lol bullet hose brrrrrr”
No. AR doesn’t take skill and I need at least one playlist where people don’t go around spraying it. Literally everything else has it so go play those.
Maybe social should have BR and Sidekick starts and the AR can be a pickup since it’s a pretty powerful gun and easy to use.

I prefer ranked play so i get matched with others of similar skill. Sbmm is in all game types as far as I know but i think it is a little tighter in ranked. I want a challenge. Playing against a BR is not a challenge.
And your comment that it doesnt take skill is just plain wrong.
How does the AR throw out gun fighting skill. That comment makes no sense. To beat someone with an ar you need to stay on target, not just spray and pray.
The problem with AR starts is two fold.

1st it doesnt have the range. So when you spawn in the other team will be smoking you with the br, stalker, shockrifle, etc from mid to far and thier is nothing you can do about it.

Its clip is too shallow. You have to be a beast to get 2 kills off one mag and you’ll have to pace your shots so slow that you’ll take too much damage off the first enemy to effectively kill the second
And before you say you should also spawn with x weapon as well. No. Having two weapons negates the skill of scavenging the map for a backup so you dont get caught in the middle of a fight if you have to reload. Something that will happen often if you start with ARs. And having two weapons shallows out the sandbox.
If it’s wrong then tell me what’s skillful about any automatic weapon that isn’t the Commando.

I explained it above a few times. Try reading. Adding AR to the starts with BR would only make the game better, even out ranked play, and keep the game going for longer. Just cause you may not be good with an AR or probably dont defend it well doesnt mean other dont find it useful.
I would prefer AR/BR starts. I disagree that it would hallow out the sandbox or make people not pick up weapons.
why would i need any other weapon when the AR out shines everything besides a rocket launcher.
