this what I was afraid arena was going to turn into if they gave us ARs to spawn with instead of BRs. Almost more than likely some noob will AR rush… Just like in halo 3. And score an easy kill… Where is the skill involved in that? Arena is about skill and that is not skillful that is n00by. The AR needs a damage and range nerf again to not reward this behavier
I think we need to wait up before anything gets nerfed. Players still aren’t used to all the game mechanics and controls. Thus they cannot counter everything perfectly.
The AR needs a range nerf, that’s all. The BR in H5 is powerful enough on its own that you would only seek out weapon pads. The skill here is map control, and knowing where and when weapons like the BR and SMG spawn in.
And after that, it’ll be nerf shoulder charge, since that’s the next step in not having anysort of rush.

Rushing in general is bad if it’s the first go to tactic… Don’t give them the tool for it don’t be an enabler

That’s what I was going for, i mean that is the next logical move, people will just run non stop and shoulder check you upon spawn, why use a gun??

Nope BR start date more balanced and skill based than AR rushing (the pistol is meh )
The ar actually is very nerfed compared to the beta. I rarely used the br as a result even during ar br spawn week. Now I try to find a br.

This playstyle should not be supported and we should not be enablers of it. It’s the cod playstyle. I don’t ever use the AR under any circumstances

Thats how automatic weapons end up worthless weapons you toss out the first chance you can. Just like the AR in Halo 3, unless your right up on the enemy in Halo 3 the AR is one of the worthless automatic weapons i’ve ever seen. If the AR can’t compete even moderately with the burst/semi weapons, then it will not be used at all. And we’ll end up with the same situation present in past Halo games where some weapons just never get used. Just like the suppressor from Halo 4, and the storm rifle from Halo 4…good luck getting kills with either of those weapons.
The AR is a good starting weapon. Stop being such a cry baby
A fully auto can and should over power a burst/single shot weapon in its effective range (close-mid).
The BR/DMR/PISTOL/LR/Carbine etc will all still dominate the AR in thier effective ranges / depending on skill levels of the player.
If youre being out gunned by an AR at range, then, youre simply not as good as you think you are.
so tired of seeing people whine about the AR starts claiming it to be a “noob” gun. It’s not. It has its effective range and situational uses. Like every other weapon in the game.

Why is everyone saying nerf this nerf that, it’s rediculous the game has been out for 2 days, barely. Sorry if you don’t like that the ar isn’t like the halo 2 smg, get over it. If you don’t like it to back to mcc or just leave. We don’t want useless automatics and br/dmr starts. It’s rediculous. The matchmaking is balanced as is, and I don’t want it ruined by people crying about BR starts.
