AR OP

I’m sorry if this annoys any AR lovers but wtf is the point of using a BR or a DMR on these maps when the AR is just so ridiculously OP…?

secondly, the halo 4 button lay obstructs the usage of the ground smash ability. Why can’t we assign actions to buttons?

Weapon on pick up needs to be more highlighted, I can’t see -Yoink- for picking up weapons like prophets bane just before another enemy runs in…

I’m glad, it’s a useful gun now. Br and dmr are still better but u have a chance with ar if they miss

It’s not OP, especially at range. If the AR user gets shot with a single bullet they get de-scoped and start shooting everywhere. Right now this weapon has a purpose, I want it to stay that way.

Well, I thought the point of the DMR and BR is that they should be used at longer ranges. At least, that seems to be the plan the folsk I’ve played against employed. It isn’t that difficult.

I love the AR so this makes me happy, better than every game devolving into a BR strafe fest

The Assault Rifle isn’t overpowered, as it has a limited range. Of course it’s going to beat the Battle Rifle and DMR in close range, it’s an Assault Rifle, that’s its purpose. If you’re getting beaten by an Assault Rifle user and your accuracy with the precision weapons is fine, then you’re just using the precision weapons wrong, are you expecting the Assault Rifle to be next to useless like in Halo 3 or Halo: Reach? Also, the Sub-Machine Gun is more powerful than the Assault Rifle in CQC (but it isn’t overpowered due to its VERY short range). That’s one thing I love about 343i’s Halo games; the standard automatic weapons are actually useful.

The same could have been said of any of the previous Halo games, just in reverse.

Once again, the Halo community’s worship of the BR to the exclusion of all else raises its head. Just saying.

There’s still relevancy in the BR and DMR it’s jus that AR is actually useful.

BR’s and DMRS still dominate from the longer ranges.

I agree with these responses. Aside from maybe some minor damage tweaks, I like the way the AR is balanced. The Battle Rifle and DMR are still a lot more effective at long range and with consistent accuracy at medium, but not so much that you get a bunch of leeway for misses against AR or SMG. I don’t understand why people think BR>>>>>>>All normal weapons is necessary for balance. I like that you can actually use other weapons and not feel like you’re completely wasting your time.

Agree. In fact, I don’t mind buffing it and making it relevant. But not by this amount. Kill times are ridiculously low. Feels like I’m playing Destiny.

ar is good as it is. we just have to get used to it. it is a mid to close weapon but the other halo games made it feel only good in close range but now the weapon actually has a chance at competing with other weapons
