AR ....Nerf it? Buff it? Leave it be?

I say leave it be

buff suppressor plox

I agree, its not supposed to be weak or strong its well balanced, people need to stop changing somerhiing, why is it so difficult for people to just go play halo 3 or Halo reach if they don’t like the weapon streangth. or any changes to the game for that matter.

I would have never though to put buff it. The last post I read wanted a buff. “scratches head” Wha???

People need to I would be deeply appreciative if you would refrain from speaking. and play the game or don’t. coming from a mlg type player. The AR is great for new players. the BR is great for Moderate players. THE DMR is great for experienced players. The LR and the carbine are good to play with.

The only problem I have is how OP sniping is now without unscoping. Anyone that is good with a sniper will never not kill someone they see even if they are shooting at them with the DMR and not missing.

This is what I thought would be the outcome. Just had to check

The AR should be left alone. It finally has a purpose, now, instead of being a weapon I’d throw away and keep the Magnum.

I finally started using it as my secondary with firepower last night. Some guy kept killing me with it. I kept thinking wtf is going on. How is he killing me with a crap AR. I used it and loved it. CQC in a good players hands cannot be beat.

I use DMR/BR combo with Firepower for my main loadout. On certain games, I use AR because of how close quarters the games get, like in KoTH.

I’m so glad that weapons finally get purposes.

Give this fanbase a powerful AR by heeding the complaints from Halo 3 to Reach and you’ll get more complaints that the same AR is too strong.

It’s like most of the people who wanted the damn thing to be useful finally get what they want and then some of them turn around and complain.

I vote no on the nerf, the AR is finally where it needs to be. Sans CE, it’s about -Yoinking!- time, thank you 343.

I used that same combo before I used the AR.

It’s fine and dandy!

AR is a tool that has a specific job and it does that job very well. It puts a lot of lead on target at short to medium range. The people that complain about it are usually trying to shoot it at targets that are outside its effective range.

The Suppressor fulfills its roll as an SMG fine the way it is. It also puts lots of lead on target at short range. It isn’t meant to the forerunner version of an assualt rifle, it’s an SMG.

I still miss my SMG from ODST…

They should just give us another playlist where we just use actual Nerf guns. Put rubber bumpers on my Warthog while your at it. The gunner can shoot candy.

AR + Active Camo = EXTREME T-BAGS!

I really regard the AR, storm rifle, and suppressor as secondary weapons. They are good in their niches, but they aren’t very flexible in comparison to the BR, DMR, and light rifle. As such, this game will be about the BR, DMR, and light rifle unless something changes.

I’d like to see them buff the utility aspect of the automatic weapons. I’d like to see a faster bloom reset to emphasize burst firing, and I’d like to see a 2x scope added for mid-range burst firing.

Damage- and ROF-wise, I think it’s spot on. Its problem in previous games was mostly that it didn’t deal much damage to unshielded opponents. It seems better in this regard. Finishing players off is now more possible.

This. Exactly this. It was a great automatic utility weapon. Give us something like it in multiplayer, please!

I’d play that. Not even joking.

Most populated playlist of the year right there.

You mean D-BAGS. Extreme T-BAGS is what they do to your dead body afterwards.

It depends on the role that your filling on a team slot. If your overwatch for the team then yes you need something with accuracy and range to cut opponents off your team mates and cover their flanks. But if your the point man or the door kicker then the AR/Storm Rifle/Suppressor is the meat and potatoes of your load out.
Please keep in mind though this is the perspective of someone that only plays co-op campaign and spartan ops missions.
