The AR needs to have a nerf you shouldn’t be able to wreck someone from mid range with an AR. I feel like they need to tweak the damage or range

Yeah I would agree the pistol needs a little bit of work, but this is the first halo I’ve felt confident having an AR in my hands because it’s a little more balanced I feel like.
the AR is arguably the weakest weapon in the game, its weaker than the SMG in most situations and its weaker than the pistol in most situations. I barely use it at all.

I don’t see why the pistol needs to be nerfed. It could be worse, 343i could’ve given it the 3-shot capability of the Combat Evolved while retaining the firerate.

That’s because you use your pistol as you standard weapon. Everyone who is spoild by it’s power says the same thing, but all of you know it is that’s why you cry. I know how it feels to have your power taken away. Don’t worry everything is going to be alright…

Uh, I don’t use the Magnum has a standard weapon. If you want to say that I’m “spoiled by it’s power” go ahead: but it is in all honesty fine and requires a much larger skill gap then weapons like the Battle Rifle (which to me is harder then the Magnum for use).

So, if I for example, were to say it’s fine, and doesn’t need top be nerfed I’m not a competitive player and just ‘another casual’? You realise you can easily beat the AR with a Battle Rifle, Magnum or DMR provided you’ve got the skill. It isn’t that hard to beat one. Sure. Let’s nerf the AR though, make it be dominated by Battle Rifles at anything beyond point-blank range though.

There’s usually only two battle rifles per map. If your a HUGE fan of the AR your most likely a casual player, but theres nothing wrong with it. Halo takes more skill than the average game. However, spraying someone with an AR Then beating them down plagues the game

Can’t say I’ve seen the whole “spraying someone with the AR then beating them down” plaguing the game. Half the people I’ve seen in Arena use the Magnum as an BR alternative.
ar is strong. that storm rifle though is rediculous

The AR does need to be nerfed down for range and damage and here is why.
Pistol, BR and DMR are skill weapons and you can track this by head shots and other stats. The AR fans have low head shot count because they can only spray and pray to get kills. They way it is now you have, say in free for all, in upper skilled brackets players that use the AR and can hang on the scoreboard with the skilled players and they have no business being there it does “plague the game”. By nerfing this weapon and some others will make it so the higher skilled players will rise up the ranks and play with other high skilled players and thus have a shall we say a truer outcome on the score sheet. The average and low skill players will stay in the bottom to mid ranks using the AR and needler and other weapons that require no aim just point it in the players direction hold the trigger and get a kill.
That has always been the problem with these Halo games since H2. They want to appeal to a mass audience and make it so everyone can play, skilled or not, and feel like they are good, it sells more copies. Bottom line is that I just want to know at the end of a match that the score sheet is true and not knowing that you are better than some players that came in a higher place because they get kills they never should have had.
Look on the bright side AR fans, if they do nerf it and other low skill weapons it might force your brain to acquire the skill it takes to actually aim and get head shots and who knows maybe there is a couple pro players out there that don’t know it yet and use the AR now but in time, because they were forced to see the light, become sick monsters on the pro scene.
agreed. you dont need headshots with it, it shouldnt compete with guns that do

I’ve literally won matches of FFA and had 20+ head shots and the person in second had zero.
Find a way around the ar instead of crying a nerf.
It’s been this way for all online MM I remember - 3, Reach, 4 and now 5 - Spray and Pray. Until BRs become the standard starting weapon this is what you are going to get.
In theory the strafe in this game should do more but that’s what the thruster pack is for I guess?
