Assault Rifle hits to a shielded jackal’s exposed hand won’t make them stagger back and drop their shield. I can kill them by just shooting the hand, but that is a really inefficient way to kill a common enemy. I’m not sure if this is a bug or working as intended, but either way it really limits the campaign AR’s usefulness as a primary weapon when compared to the BR, Commando, and Sidekick.

There’s actually a new way to get the Jackal to drop their shield in Infinite, and that’s to Grappleshot them.
It now serves as your main way to stagger them if you are in range.
I know about option of grappling them, but the grappleshot has an even shorter range than the AR and might be on cooldown. Most other weapons can stagger jackals on their own if you aim right. It’s weird that the AR can’t given that it’s clearly intended to be one of your primary weapons.
