I’ve played online since Halo 3, and as you can see in my career history, Halo 4 Infinity gametypes show my best performance, and Halo 3 the worst. Even worse than that is Legendary Slayer BR in Halo 4. Anything with fair starts and competitive gameplay I’m terrible at. Armor abilities and personal ordinance let me perform better. I hate that this is the case. No matter how much I play in competitive game modes, I never improve. I have no friends that play Halo 4 any more, and no one will accept my friend requests because I am poor at the game, creating a self-fulfilling cycle where I can’t improve. It may be in part due to random players that are poor at the game as well adding to my plight, but when I’m paired up with skilled players on my team I’m never in the top.
I feel like I won’t be good at Halo 5 either, and I can guarantee I’ll be in the bottom 10% of players in Halo 2 Anniversary. I don’t know what I have to do to get better. I’ve tried and it seems that I’m just not built for Halo. I don’t want to stop playing since I love the universe and the gameplay but I’m just so bad at it that it’s never fun. I don’t even know what kind of reply I’m looking for, but I just wanted to vent and get some kind of feedback. And please, no elitism. That ruins any game.
