That wasn’t even really before the end of the round. And I have never seen or heard of any one destroying a phantom that isn’t a boss. The drop phantoms can’t be destroyed. Also you have to have had done some significant damage to it.

If you shoot anything period and not die then the round ends you get the kill, as long as your teammates didn’t shoot it.
