What do I mean by “Apache Helicopter” you say? I mean the Jetpack layout in FF. (FRG+Needler/Rocket+Magnum)
Why? Because IMHO it’s the DEFINITIVE thing that completely ruined Reach’s Firefight all-in-all. It gives the player such a huge advantage on the field. Taking away entirely from the “vulnerable” feeling that ODST gave you when you played Firefight.
You had to actually work as a TEAM, conserve ammo+share weapons, and keep good communication. Now, don’t even try and tell me to go play Limited. I have… it’s too easy even when paired with idiots. 1st time I played FFL I had 0 deaths, 250+ kills. And also helped bring back everyone else ALL the time. Didn’t even die once at all…
What did they all keep trying? Apache-ing into there immediate death. Basically just screwing me over in the end when I AM stuck by myself fighting everything! Fair? Nah…
My proposal? Replace it with Evade! So far (from what I’ve seen) Rocketfight is the ONLY FF gametype that actually allows you to use Evade. And Evade comes in handy greatly, not just for map travel/speed, but for dodging Grenades/Vehicles/Heretics.
Which is another thing that NEEDS to be removed from Firefight… Heretics. Their aim bots and CRAZY luck makes them the most annoying thing I’ve ever faced in a Halo game (as far as FF goes). They can headshot you with Rocket launchers, and straight make it RAIN on you with Grenade Launchers teamed with DMR fire.
So PLEASE 343i, if you can’t do the 1st mentioned… PLEASE remove Heretics out of the lineup! They were crazy fun at first… but now they’re just getting irritating. EVERYTIME I’m out on the field I just so happen to run across the Heretic spawn points everyfriggintime! As soon as they see you… it’s over. You can’t even blink…
