Yeah, it is stupidly rare from what I have experienced… only Gold Packs have granted me it.
I managed to unlock it today from a warzone req, but the match is usually well past half over by the time I get to level 6 reqs. The level 8 requirement for my green melee SMG is ridiculous, by that point there is usually at most a couple minutes left in the game. Same for the one mantis I had. I only used it because there was no point in saving it as it always takes so long to get to that level, lol. Love the mantis, but I doubt I will ever be able to use it at a critical time, even if I do get another. And then you get those times where the other team all has tanks less than halfway through the game and it is just like WTF…

No its fine at Level 6. You need to be able to counter it with a sniper which is Level 6 as well. Otherwise Warzone Assault would just come down to which team gets to Level 5 first.

Because clearly you can’t counter the Sniper with a level 4 BR that has the Longshot Scope which is the exact same range and scope as a standard DMR.

Yes, that’s why the sniper is a power weapon. The point is that the DMR has more than 2x the effective range of the BR. One needs the sniper rifles to be able to counter the range of the DMR.

i think DMR should be level 4 instead though. Higher than the BR, but still lower than the sniper rifle. Even 5 would be better.

Not the case. The BR’s effective range (red reticle) is 27.52m hip and 54.94m while scoped. The DMR’s effective range (red reticle) is 36.71m hip and 109.79m (standard scope). Putting the DMR’s standard scope (Longshot) onto a BR does not increase it’s ballistic range. By that logic, the Longshot AR could range a DMR…good luck with that one.

thats absurd. you’d have more people starting to sit around, and fire off long shots, I’m glad its at level six.
I have to say, the recon DMR was in one of my first packs. And I may be the only one in my friends list to have a DMR at all. I’m not sure my friends or foes should be denied a standard weapon, although it takes REQ 6 to use it.

Well right now it’s a race to level 3. Nothing would really change.
I can see both sides of the coin, but I think the DMR should stay at 6. I mean, the DMR is great at range & very strong against vehicles. Remember Halo 4 how terrible the vehicles were in BTB when everybody had a DMR? There’s already tons of upgraded guns that take vehicles super fast in Warzone, I don’t think we need everybody spamming them with DMR’s at the same time. Honestly, some vehicles need a buff because the BR is so good now on dedicated servers. I’d say a little extra plating around the gunner on the standard Warthog would not hurt in Warzone. The standard Warthog is only somewhat effective up until three req energy level when everybody gets out a BR & simply four shots the gunner out. I would argue the Plasma Pistol needs to EMP stun all the vehicles for a second or two less as well. Now that people are starting to unlock a lot of things, a lot of the vehicles are slowly turning into “Why even waste my energy on getting a vehicle” or like in H4 where sometimes I felt it was useless to get in a Ghost. I miss Halo 1 & Halo 3 when the Warthog had some “beef” to it. I feel 343i makes some of their vehicles a bit too weaksauce, it’s like they are made out of plastic. (although there are a few good vehicles too, but I’m saying something like the basic Warthog really is starting to blow in Warzone)
the melee guns are 1HK melee. its like having an infinite energy sword with less lunge

You do realize that it depends on which team gets to 3 first right? Every game there is always one or two kings on a team that unlock level 3 before a team takes a second base. Then depending on the team and the people who’ve unlocked it…can start dominating from afar. Lol. It’s an amazing game moment.
