From someone who’s done LASO both solo and co-op, I’d actually suggest doing it solo.
Sure, you mind find it a bit “harder”, but with the Iron Skull workaround, and Halo Completionist’s guides, it’s entirely possible.
I remember doing T&R on CE with a friend - spent 2 hours getting into the ship, only to DC and lose all our progress (despite playing in the same room). Don’t get that problem playing solo, and you don’t have to wait for your friend to be available, or do whole missions in 1 sitting.

This. I did all the LASO’s with my friend, disconnects were a common occurrence and always happened at the worst possible times making us loose a lot of progress. There’s also co-op delay which is super annoying for non-host and makes laso way harder than it already is.
The playlists like to bug out too, when you’re the co-op player, there’s a chance that some random mission throughout the LASO playlist will not count, and since you can not got back on missions in playlists and you are required to complete the playlists for the achievements, you have to re-do the entire playlist.
I get that it’s always more fun to play with a friend as opposed to doing all of this solo, but due to the current state of the game, the state of CO-OP, you might just have a better time doing it SOLO.
