Anyone want to play some Halo 1 esc FF?

Hey y’all.

First of all, Firefight in Reach is little more than just a credit farming playlist.

Firefight is in the least bit interesting.

Unlimited rockets with jet packs and overshileds against AI that are hopeless in their efforts to even put a dink in your armor.

This style of play has remained virtually unchanged since Reach’s release.

So I’ve put together a gametype that resembles gameplay of ODST and Halo 1 in that, Death comes with a penalty, When a hunter comes around a corner you soil your fresh new pants only put on after seeing a grunt wielding dual plasmas in a suicidal manner.

So if you want in, then just leave your gt below for an invite.

Not for everyone. Many of us just like playing Firefight. It’s true you can earn lots of credits doing it, but thats not the only reason people play it.

> Firefight is in the least bit interesting

I assume you meant to say “isn’t the least bit interesting.” That’s your opinion, and while it’s one many people share it’s not universal. Granted, many of us sorely miss the Firefight Limited playlist and hope it will come back at some point, but there is still fun to be had for some of us in the Firefight Doubles playlist.

And yet it is still a challenge to complete a full set without dying in game of Arcadefight in the Firefight Doubles playlist. Four-person Arcadefight is just annoying in my opinion. If you’re matched up with people who are any good the point of the game is to not to kill enemies before they kill you, but to see if you can kill enemies before your teammates kill everything in five seconds. That, I agree, is not interesting.

Arcadefight was added at some pointed after Reach’s release. The downside to Firefight with limited lives when playing with randoms is that you’ll often end up with some idiot who uses up all the lives and ends the game in five minutes if the game actually has any challenge to it.

I played a game of Firefight Limited a couple of weeks ago with some guy who plays Limited because he thinks it pays out more credits. The game lasted just under 15 minutes, during which time he died 12 times killing 47 enemies while I died twice. Game over. Not interesting.

Getting people to play Firefight customs is hard since the credit payout is virtually nothing. If you have an interesting Firefight game type you should upload it to your file share so people can download it and check it out.
