Been playing Halo Wars 2 for a good while now. I’ve yet to meet anyone who plays Isabel, i’ve mainly seen the usual Cutter and Atriox and Forge and Serina. But never Isabel. Does anyone actually use her?
Yeah, I do. I’ve been mostly using Kinsano for the last week but before that I mained Isabel for a while. She’s my third most used leader too. Disclaimer though, I’ve only played team games this season. I don’t think she’s as viable in 1s. But I reached Onyx in both 2s and 3s using just Isabel as my main.

Well, me personally I can’t play Isabel, I just can’t wrap my head around her play style. That being said, however, she received a massive buff a while back making her viable and I have to say that I’m most afraid of Isabel than other late game leaders like Decimus or Atriox. Her leader power GITM(Ghost In The Machine) decimates army, for instance if you have a condor they can take that over and two things can happen. Either “A” the condor kills a lot of your units. Or option “B” your units kill the condor. Both options result in massive loss of population and resources as you have to re-train the units. And don’t say,“I’ll just make an infantry army” because you will get destroyed if you do that. The two examples I gave were about controlling a condor but they don’t even have to have a condor, just take over their vehicles and take out a portion their army or force them to take out their own army resulting in the same conclusion. On top of that, though I don’t know if this is true, I think that Alice is more stronger than Jerome or Douglas but like I said I still have yet to actually fact check this. Even her MAC blast, though not having multiple shots, is devastating when fully upgraded. Plus on the topic of GITM having combat salvage allows you to take control of unique units. For instance if you use GITM on an enemy’s blister back(it could be anything form grizzlies to colossus but I’m just using blister backs as this has happened to me) then use combat salvage, if the blister back dies she now has permanent control over a blister back as a UNSC leader!
I know this post isn’t saying that she is a bad leader but that she is under played. But that is because in order to harness her full late game power you have to be super good at micro, macro, and just understanding everything about the game. So while you may not see her often, in the right hands she is a force to be reckoned with.
Anymore? She was never good in the first place. Now she’s viable. Still not great though.

She’s a real challenge as an AI with that Ghost in the Machines leader power

So with that accelerated assembly. You can really focus on teching into T2 and start on hogs with reduced cost. I usually get the hogs double pumping at around the 3:30 mark. Most players are still on T1 infantry at that point. Anti-air is also at your finger tips with two garages. Mid game has those mac blast and late game has that recycle so you really could just throw and army into a battle and come back strong right away.

Very well spotted on GITM, not to mention i never kept track of the Spartans strength. Alice being more powerful then Jerome and Douglas worries me since i main Anders. Thanks for the insight on Isabel, and thanks for being so cool about it.

The problem was that you just fast teched and hoped I wouldn’t rush you. The moment most players see an early double extractor, they’re going to push on you. Deci is especially good at that because of Killing Frenzy and Siphon + Warlord. Isabel is good in teams now, but I’d say she’s still outclassed in 1s.
