I know this is quite long in the tooth, but I have a fairly unique situation that if I could possibly get some help on I’d much appreciate it.
I pre-ordered and bought the Legendary edition when it came out. But due to my living arrangements, I had no place to possibly display the statue at the time. So beyond taking the game out of the top compartment I never opened the entire box. Flash forward a couple years, I now live in a much larger apartment, and I decided to bust open this puppy to properly display a really awesome statue. As I’m putting all the pieces together I go to reach for the final piece and realize… there isn’t one. I look inside the box and everywhere, and it seems that it was never in the box to begin with. Some kind of manufacturer error that I was never able to know until the day I actually fully opened the box, today…
My initial reaction when the realization of what had happened washed over me:
I know it’s a couple years after the release of the game, so just on the off chance that anything could be done, I contacted Microsoft. They told me to contact the seller. I called up Amazon, and they were super cool and awesome about everything. Telling me that if they could send me a replacement they totally would, but since it has been out of stock for a while, there was nothing they could do about getting me a replacement. They also suggested I hit up Waypoint and throw a post on the forums.
I can live with the fact that due to these circumstances I got screwed on a defective unit, especially considering the amount of time that has passed. But I also realize that there is no harm in simply exploring my options and asking if there is anything that I can do, or anyone else I can possibly contact, about just getting a simple replacement, if it was even possible at this point.
The statue is awesome and all, it’s just that one missing piece. Being keenly aware of its absence, it draws the eye and sticks like a thorn in the brain, becoming the overwhelming focus of what was just supposed to be a badass sendoff for the fallen defenders of Reach.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
