Anyone think this should have been like halo 3.5?

just wondering people’s views

Uh, no. And if it had been then this forum would have been filled with people hating on 343 for their failure to innovate. It’s a no win situation. Anything they could have done would have annoyed somebody, and as I said before, the annoyed are very vocal. Don’t believe everything you hear. Especially on a random internet forum. Aliens are not coming to get you. The American way of life is not doomed. Vaccinations are not killing our children. And Halo 4 is not a bad game.

I agree with OP. I think Halo 4 should have been like a ‘Halo 3.5’, maybe named ‘Halo 4: Awakening’ or something like that. I don’t think it deserves the official title of ‘Halo 4’.

A little.

They innovated plenty, but a lot of what they did was just copying from other games. Take load outs, for example. Instead of spawning into the map with whatever then finding better weapons, there becomes a meta of which is the best combo to spawn. Since you’ve already got a decent combo, you’re more inclined to camp. It really changes the overall feel of the game. Quake has a really nice feeling to it, because everyone spawns with a gauntlet and a machine gun, if you want anything better you have to fight for it or find it. It’s the exact same feeling Halo CE, 2, and 3 have as you spawn in-game with whatever weapon and you just duke it out.

Also, grunts sound like robots and you don’t need to animate pressing a button. It reminds me of the most recent Thief title which was a total flop, all I remember from it is watching my character waste time by making some flamboyant animation with his hand to pick up some trinket and I never bothered to finish it. In Halo 4, a lot of time spent speed running is lost waiting for buttons to activate, watching a button being pressed, or from in-game cutscenes. Then jump back to Halo CE and speed run and it’s night and day.

Halo 4 was great, don’t try to mix the halos becuase the games are vastly different from their own kind and even spin offs. Most of us do not want a repeating halo game with minimal change.
