Anyone Returning from a Leave of Absence?

I haven’t been playing Halo in quite some time. Then again I haven’t been playing any games in a long while. Well, except on my 3DS on occasion. But not Xbox 360 or One. Just been super busy working 70 hours a week and being a single parent. But once Halo 5: Guardians is released I plan on taking 3 days off from work to enjoy it. And since I’m putting over $800 towards it, I damn well better enjoy it.

You should know that a majority of the game is online only so remember to get Xbox Live Gold.

I hope Halo 5 will fulfill our Halo dreams :3

Oh I’ve got Xbox Live Gold. My son has been getting plenty of cheap (and not so cheap) kids games this whole time. Like Raving Rabbits and Lego Jurassic World. But come October 27th, I’ll finally be playing again.

I am! I played Halo 1-3 religiously until the release of Reach. At the time I didn’t like the direction Reach was taking the Halo series so I quit playing it after about a month. After that I returned to Halo 3 and played for about another 5 months until I quit in favor of playing newer games. I totally skipped Halo 4 and didn’t touch the Halo series again until The Master Chief Collection which I bought on release day. But as fate would have it the MCC matchmaking was just a mess so I quit playing after about a week of attempting to. It was only about 3 weeks ago that I decided to give MCC another try and to my delight it seemed to be finally playable. Needless to say I haven’t played anything else since I booted MCC back up and have finally caught up with the series again after playing the campaigns and enjoying the Halo 4 Playlist in Matchmaking. Heck, I even rebought Halo: Reach and played through it’s campaign again.

My love of Halo has officially been restored and just today I went and already bought Halo 5: Guardians off when I pre-ordered it and I have to say, it truly looks better than ever. Now I’m just counting down the days until October 27th. Impatiently, might I add.

Well welcome back! I made my return (to gaming and to Halo) this past June by buying the Xbox One with MCC. I had sold my 360 and all games earlier last year after similar circumstances, to busy with real life, family, etc. I’m very glad I came back as I’m enjoying the MCC and really looking forward to H5. I tried to ignore the Xbox and especially H5 for a while but my hype is full blown at this point. Just got to learn to balance games with the real life stuff and play when you can.

Other than campaign I found Halo 4 to be very disappointing. It was also during a time in my life where I was getting increasingly busier and didn’t have time to play all the games that I wanted to. Since Halo was moving in a direction I didn’t care too much for, I decided to walk away from the franchise. I still loved Halo, but wanted to drop out while I still had fond memories.
Eventually I focused all my hype on Destiny. For like 2 years I agonized over how far away it’s launch was and how badly I wanted to play it. When it finally did launch I played it for a couple of weeks before realizing it just wasn’t the game for me.
Around that same time me and some friends that used to have Halo 2 LAN parties picked up MCC hoping to have as much fun as we did back in the day. There was only a few days left of the Halo 5 beta at that point so I thought I’d check it out just to see what it was like. I freaking loved it! Hype levels have been at critical mass ever since. And to think I checked it out on whim. I very easily could be sitting here at my work computer right now with no idea whatsoever about all the changes and cool stuff 343 has added and all the horrible stuff from Halo 4 that they removed.
It feels good to be back and as soon as I finish Last Light I’ll be all caught up on the novels.

Besides warzone and basic online MP, eveything else is not know yet. For all we know campaign customs and forge can be done offline.

70 hours a week working ?! I take my hat off to you sir.
But seriously I’m not getting much time to play on my Xbox or Wii U at the moment because of work as well. But like you I’m looking forward to a few days off to play the crap out of Halo 5 starting on the 27th.

I played every halo game and Halo 4 left a sour taste in my mouth due to the terrible choices 343 did in multiplayer I went back to reach till MCC came out and got that stopped till I find out if matchmaking was working and now that it is been playing it having fun came back to MCC after Destiny disappointed me with its lackluster story and -Yoinking!- RNG randomness so ive been playing MCC and need for speed Rivals to tide me over till Halo 5 releases in 38 days from now im so hyped I have a feeling that halo 5 could be the best halo in several years so im hyped I played the beta and I -Yoinking!- loved it im so hyped and OP you might wanna keep an eye out on Ready up Live’s youtube channel over next few days they are gonna be having some juicy halo 5 stuff no idea what it is

Nah, I’ve been playing MCC, but I’ll be there for H5 tho.
