Anyone notice the symbol by someones tag?

Has anyone else noticed this? It’s like a little gray/white rocketship next to a players gamertag. Like in Reach or H3 when you could enable what it was on bnet. Is this a glitch? 343 member?

I think that’s the mark that indicates that you were muted by that person and the ‘rocket’ is actually a microphone with a backslash going across it.

Really? I think I’ve used my mic in about 6 games on H4. I suppose they could be random mutes though, I have done that by accident. But I see one about every third or fourth game.

I could be wrong, I’ve only seen it about a handful of times.

Some accounts are of those belonging to a younger community, and parents have placed those accounts under parental supervision. Some of the parental settings include preventing their child from conversing with people they aren’t Xbox Live friends with. Hence why it looks like they’re muted, when in reality they aren’t.

It’s the “you’ve been muted by that guy symbol.” Playing with me, you’ll see it all the time because I mute everyone who has a mic. It’s literally the first thing I do when new players jump in.

Or, you know, instead of being a -Yoink- and trying to get people mute banned, you could go to your audio settings and select “Mute” so it automatically does it…

Why not turn chat off… you are getting some people banned that probably are just trying to communicate and help you win.

surely mutes do not result in bans. is that definitely true?

One person muting? No. -Yoinking!- harmless.

Getting muted by everyone in the lobby? Yes. -Yoinking!- hilarious.
