Anyone miss the kind of slower pace of Halo 3? Where you could move around the map, know the general locations of enemies and friendlies, know how long it would take the enemy ro get from their base to…like the middle hill of Valhalla, know when exactly the vehicle spawns and grab the warthog with a buddy. Drive to the other base without your warthog getting destroyed by pesky DMR shots like in Reach. Sprint and AAs in general in Reach seem to change the gameplay and pace too much.
As for Halo 4 I’ve been hearing mixed things, everyone who has played it at E3 and PAX has said it plays a lot like Halo 3 and less like Reach. But at the same time its been said Halo 4 has a faster pace. These seem to contradict one another.
I believe they mean the overall ‘feel’ of it is like Halo 3. The pace is definitely sped up, but from the countless videos i’ve watched i’m kind of getting a Halo 3 vibe from it as well.
A faster Halo 3 with elements from Reach and ideas of it’s own. That’s what i’ve seen so far. I am really sure that map control, map knowledge, and callouts will still be as effective as they were in the past Halos.
> i just miss Halo 3 in general but then again, if I wanted Halo 4 to be just like Halo 3, I would just play Halo 3.
I just feel that Halo 3 is a better game than Halo Reach in terms of gameplay, lasting appeal and fun. And Halo 4 is obviously going to take things from both of them.
