I hope we can switch tools like the grappling hook with the thruster pack, jet pack, or other amour mods and even set up different loadouts around this (like in reach).

I’d be surprised if Jetpack wasn’t added as equipment in a future season. Maybe you get fuel at 100% and usage brings it down to 0%.
Thruster is 100% in. I’ll miss it as standard, but it also wouldn’t work with Infinite’s movement and aim assist. I imagine they have moved away from H5 settings as that would be incredibly difficult for the majority of keyboard and mouse users.
There was a very rare map load out in rotation that had it as a spawns. It’s a 3 charge equipment with a thrust that’s a bit less forceful then H5’s and relation to slide etc, still cool though.
I wouldn’t mind it as standard load out that gets overridden by anything you pick up but I know that’s not going to happen, still had a lot of thruster muscle management in last flight weekend though lol…
I think the idea of the thruster not being standard actually gives it an edge. Because you just aren’t expecting it all the time like you did in halo 5.
I hope they tweak the ammo though. I like the idea of having practically infinite thruster if you manage to get the pickup… having to limit it to 3 uses seems underwhelming.
I guess equipment does spawn pretty quickly though. But I think I’d prefer a larger usage count with a slower respawn.

Ah makes sense.
Making it a powerup/equipment pickup is definitely the better way to go, I’m really glad with the Direction 343 took it.
They have a thruster type thing, it’s a combo between the elite roll in reach and the thruster from 5
Reach had the worst map design out of all the games and that’s saying alot since H4 was awful too. This was due to the fact they had to build all the maps to accommodate all the silly load out armor mods. I’m glad they are making these like Halo 3 pick ups instead of just given to you at spawn.
Me. Muscle memory, every time I run and followed by pressing X button to thrust in Halo Infinite, and found that one time of my equipment wasted

Bug in preview build and we could try it in Custom Games already, some videos on youtube.

I only miss it when I press B to use and I just duck lol. I just played too much Halo 5. I feel like I’m pretty much used to it being gone now.

Not Datamainers, there was a glitch in the second flight that gives you acces to custom games, with acces to thruster and un announced weopons. I and many others actually saw gameplay of the thruster and a bit of non announced stuff.

Muscle memory is real though. I had a hard time going back to MCC after the flight was over.
For a 10 years game, Thruster pack and jet pack have to return !
