Anyone miss soundtrackless firefights?

It seems now that in Halo 4, anywhere you are in the campaign and SpOps, music is playing in the background, and there are very rarely any firefights that have no soundtrack going on. It actually kind of gives me a headache with continuous music in the background (as quiet as it is). I would like to see sequences in the game where there is no music playing while I’m fighting. This right now for H4 is only possible for a future SpOps season. Please implement this if you can 343!

I personally like music during heated firefights, cause it sort of gives depth, or a sense of immersion that you’re fighting for your life. Without music silently playing in the background, it gets a bit, boring. But there should be an option to turn it off.

And uh,
love you too.

Personally, I think it seems boring and unimportant without music.

I agree with you. I find that the smaller skirmishes don’t really need any soundtracks playing. Especially when we’re given epic music in a very lackluster battle. It doesn’t settle well with me.

I say either there shouldn’t be any music at all during those smaller battles, or there should be more gentle pieces of the score playing. Save the epic music for the actual epic battles.

You can always put a blank track on your Xbox and play that. It will cancel the music if it gives you a headache. I personally love the music and how it feels it truly plays for you when you battle. It’s definitely an upgrade.

Correction OP, i miss the ODST Firefight - Wave 5 music, right before the end of the round.

I feel you jumped into my mind, looked deep inside the file cabinets that were there, dusted a file off, took directions to the heart, and from the bottom of it you pulled out this post.

lol.

I have the opposite problem. Sometimes the music doesn’t load (especially on Forerunner). Anybody know a fix for this?

Music is great because it sets a nice atmosphere that to me helps create an even more epic battle.

I hate games with out music because I always have the music in game as loud as possible but Halo 4 doesn’t have an option for that…

It does work to give a feeling of emptiness, but overall, I feel the soundtraack needs to be amplified.

Or better yet, maybe we can break the tradition with Halo 5 and actually have SOUND OPTIONS!

Of all the games I’ve played, I think the real best game to not have a soundtrack in the background is Battlefield: Bad Company. There are those situations where you can sneak around the battlefield and get around the enemy to get a vantage point and the machine gun and assault rifle rounds going off in full automatic make it sound like a real battlefield around you. The gun shots are the soundtrack in that game.

But for Halo 4, I did like those moments when there were firefights and I would hear that low booming bass note as I took down multiple enemies. Really cool.

The only time I remember songless firefights is when it’s taken so long to clear the area that it gets quiet… Too quiet.
