I preferred the days of sergeant, captain, warrant officer and general. SR47 , SR89, SR130 is just so boring. I’m not talking about CSR, just the actual title of the ranks. Halo 3 managed to have competitive military ranks anyway

I miss that as well. Actually felt proud when i ranked up and saw a sgt or major. Made me feel like i was accomplished and doing something. Not the same with halo 5 and just you are now rank 80… Also miss how your emblems were actual emblems and could be worn on your armor as if they were a military patch.
Totally agree, I’ll always remember the day I got to general in h3. Also halo reach wasn’t bad either. Inheritor was a cool title at least even though it wasn’t military. Now it just sucks

I like a straightforward number rather than Sergeant of the Master Sergeants Most Important Person of Extreme Sergeants to the Max.

The ranking system is flawed. Regardless if its SR or military ranks it only has how much you’ve played, not your skill level. I focus more on trying to obtain the hard to get medals such as Perfection, Unfriggenbelievevable, Killionaire, Extermination, etc. and I will always grind hard hoping to achieve this level more than once. Anyone can have a great game and but it takes an elite player to receive obtain those medals often. That being said, I don’t really care for their ranking systems. It’s not impressive with or without a military ranking system.

well im sorry to say that no one cares if you went flawless a few times
as a fellow medal hunter i just want to complete the collection
i have never heard an MLG organization ask someone if they have “x medal” and if not they cant join
being consistent in your games is more important than having 6 perfection medals (which mind you is only 6 games out of the the hundreds or thousands of games you may play)
I don’t really miss military ranks, I like how easy it is to tell with the number ranks. You don’t need to know the military ranks.

I’m a completionist, not a medal hunter. Believe it or not there is a difference. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I was simply stating mine. If you payed any attention to my comment, I’ve mentioned

If you understood what was said you can come to the conclusion that I strive for consistency. I always try my best to help my team win.
The point I was trying to make is I care more for personal achievements, commendations, and being a well rounded player rather than caring for a military ranking system.

So in Halo 5 it’ll be “LOLOLOL Ur GOLD, you SCRUB!” So what is the difference? At least the military ranks felt cool and was better then Gold, onyx or something.

Yes I do, but I don’t mind the SR rank, I just don’t like the GOLD, Onyx etc. rank. I think those should be replaced with the military ranks.

It doesn’t take that much effort to learn ranks like seriously. I’m not in the military and I learned them. SR is boring and so is most of the things 343 has done with the game ex: the campaign= boring, maps= camel diks, and SR= stupid. 343 has NOOO IMAGINATION AT All.
