So, when you press that button during multiplayer you can see on your radar that yellow waves come out of it accompanied by a sound effect… does anyone knows what is this actually for?
Also does the Tracking button do anything on MP?

Sounds like you’re talking about a “Ping”, which is a fast way of communicating to your allies that there’s something important going on in the location you just pinged.
Because your allies see it and hear it as well.
Tracking button?

I think it’s more of a question of if it actually works or not. To which I have no idea.

I have no idea if it’s for HW or HW2.
What is the “tracking button”?

If you go to Halo 5’s controller options, on all button mappings there is a button labelled as “Tracking”, usually mapped to down on the D-pad, while on up on the D-pad usually you see “Issue Orders”. While on the Campaign it is very clear that Issue Orders is for making the other Spartans go somewhere, in multiplayer it does this sort of ping as you describe, but I don’t know if team mates can actually see it or if it even has other functions… Tracking I think does the Locke thing of scanning the environment.
(Also, I am talking about Halo 5’s mysterious buttons, not any Halo Wars)
Didn’t do much in the campaign either the time it takes for me to give an order and they complete it I could of done what ever it was quicker.

Well, for me usually they get stuff done so that I can focus on something else, although sometimes they fail miserably… so yeah…
But regardless, if it works on MP for something I would really like to know… I think Halo really should have something like Gears of War 3’s Tagging system…
You can tag enemies and weapons as points of interest for your team mates which I find extremely useful.
Simply put: It just notifies your teammates that you need support or something. ARTEMIS Tracking does not work in muliplayer, and there is no tagging.

But it actually works? How does it show up on someone else’s screen?

Yes. Your allies can see your tag and a flashing symbol even if you are out of their sight range.

Thank you for clearing up my question!
One last thing… Do you happen to know if there are any kind of restrictions like on playlists or something like that? like there are certain gaemetypes where you can’t use this?

I believe all playlists in Arena, I’m not too sure about Warzone though.
It kinda works, I usually see it but never hear it. The only time I use it is on accident during combat when I’m switching nades to throw them…so I guess in a sense…it really does work?
mind blown, and hopefully not you

I see… Thank you!
