Anyone know why 120 is minimum framerate? Not fair for 240hz refresh rate monitor users

I can only set the min to 120 hertz… But, my monitor is 240hz. custom doesnt go any higher. If i set the physical refresh rate any lower I get screen tearing and vsync slows her down even more. Very strange stuff!

You can go into the files and manually change the minimum and maximum framerate to 240. Mint Blitz posted a pretty good video about PC settings

As far as ingame settings by default the game wont let you raise the minimum framerate even through the custom input to anything over 120. This is interesting. And Wonder if i Should mess with it. hahaha ty! exactly what I was asking about

Definitely worth messing with. I don’t even have a 240hz monitor but setting both your minimum and maximum framerates to 240 (like it says in the video) boosts your fps by a MASSIVE amount.

It took me a while to figure out how to do all that with the settings are wierd without fullscreen mode and the scaling resolution. The perfect settings are scaled down. with minimum to off because all that minimum setting does IS SCALE DOWN when frames get crap. But, on the same token it also pushes max frames regardless of the scale settings. so if I can toggle minimum to my physical refresh rate I can gauge whats going on with the scaling resolution and thats all I am trying to do. I like to keep maximum unlocked. But, as is. I am assuming it’s going to be scaled to minimum and I will see whether off vs 240 makes any type of difference as far as competitive gameplay goes. In a perfect world I want 240 min and unlock its maximum at my physical resolution but I have a 6th gen processor. lol. and a 1050ti.

my back physically hurts not being able to do this ingame. you shouldnt have to physically go into the coded files of halo infinite to adjust the refresh rate of your monitor. lmao. WOW.

And instantly can see how much that is necessary. Also, for just informatively. I wouldn’t scale it down. physical resolution at minimum physical refresh rate. As long as the game recognizes that your screen can do 240hz. It’s going to be a smooth experience so theres no need to scale it down OR up. for that matter. give or take maybe 20fps. As long as its got that step to jump from it renders just fine instead of half offing everything at 120. THANKS!

which is strange because its so important with this game and its shields and alien weapons. lol. thats the whole thing. like invis alien weapons. overshield human weapons. ect. for now ive locked them both to physical refresh rate to get a solid 90 or so fps to the screen at native resolution. ect

Just wanted to clean up before this thread died. I have tested all the custom minimum refresh rates from inputting directly into the file.txt of the game program and found it unnecessary. My monitor is 240hz but my cpu/gpu can not output 240fps in this game so there is no point in custom setting the minimum to 240 through the game files. I have set max to 240 and minimum to 120 to try and keep the frames up. And am unchecking vsync because it cannot physically V sync that amount of frames as well. But, I have gsync. I could always use that instead. THANKS!
