Anyone know this yet?

What with the recent campaign being sent to certain channels for preview, has there been any mention of weather the campaign can be played offline?. Have any of these channels talked anything about this I wonder. The issue being that an always online connection doesn’t bode well for future play if the servers don’t exist to support that. Offline play then is essential if you still want to play the game many years from now like all the previous games

I’m not entirely sure but I always am very disappointed with games that do that. Even if there are features that require online, they should really have a build that supports offline without those features.

Yeah fingers crossed. I like being online and all that can benefit a single player game, but this is a single player game and like all previous Halo games I’d like to always be able to access it regardless

Unless you got it via game pass, I don’t see why you shouldn’t be able to play the campaign offline.

Some games unfortunately have that restriction.and in many cases it is unclear why. I think a lot of the time it could relate to anti-piracy but don’t quote me as I’m not sure at all if that’s is true or the case.

I’ve bought the campaign so I can play it whenever, if I don’t have game pass or no internet.

I think it’s so your console can check your subscription is still legit and in date etc. Without the online check you could easily trick your console into having an activated subscription.

I’d like to know about disc copies. And if I can play my disc copy before the global release time which is 6pm in the UK. I’ll be going to the store to get my copy in the morning, will the campaign be inaccessible until the global release? I’ve struggled finding the answer to this. :face_with_monocle:

How does that work? Isn’t the game out on December 8th?

So will the store let you buy it before the release. Games usually let you if you get the retail disc assume this is the same as the streamers are already playing via disc copy.

Yeah I would certainly imagine so. With no mention and the live game tag 343 has associated this time with Infinite, well it has me a tad concerned. It obviously needs to with gamepass of course but referring to when your machine is set as home having actually bought the game, it’s then I hope Infinite isn’t tied to requiring online to launch. Otherwise there simply isn’t a guarantee future play when the servers disappear

we shall see but hopefully someone can report this information on launch

yeah for gamepass it does need to reach out but I can understand that. Hopefully not when you make an actual purchase and set your machine to home

Drm is why.

Bots can be played offline.
@ADROPACRICH2 GP only needs to be online for the 24hr check in.

thanks yes gamepass requires it checks for good reason. I should have been more clear though. Refering to an actual purchase of Halo Infinite campaign and machine set to home. In this case most games becoming entirely playable offline but I wonder if Infinite will. I can play all Gears games for example or just about any game in my library entirely offline when purchased

As mentioned bots are playable offline so it stands to reason campaign will also.
Now can’t say for sure if they have an update to keep it locked untill after the release time.

bots offline, that’s great news
