Anyone know how to counter Senina?

now before people get their nickers in a knot, I’m not here to whine and complain and shriek for nerfs.
All I’m here to ask is what’s a good way to counter her early pushes with the Bison that just locks down at your base and stops your production. I’ve missed the initial release of her leader so idk what the new meta has become.
Usually I play Banished and I’m just unsure how to actually beat it? Hunters get rinsed it seems, same with ghosts with shields.
I feel like I might need to do a ‘can’t beat them, join them’ for this season

Use Forge kill the ice rush with the hog gain map control and then play it out rushing to tech 3. She cant keep up with your eco in the late game so youll win here. This is if your equal skill.

Win the game first

Leader, chopper/ ghost, grunts, 1st leader upgrade, infantry level one will push back weak Serena…

What about tips for if you play Banished, or is that practically impossible to win with against the Bison?

Afraid I have no idea on Banished. Don’t play them but i would imagine pumping anti infantry would be the way to go as she all ins with icers and ravens. Also air is very effective and Banshees more so I’d guess given they are better than hornets.

Id say fast hard hitting units like warthogs or air units. Just use hit and run tactics and avoid getting frozen

To prevent the Bison you need hero units and Suicide Grunts. The Suicides will wipe out supporting infantry and provide good chip damage.

For this to work though you need some scouting so you can ride out and meet them away from your base rather than have them engage you on top of it.

There is no way to beat her. You can beat the person using her as in out play them but there is no rival to her right now. Forge is the closest then shipmaster 2nd closest but if played right she won’t lose to them.

Easy. Don’t play the game until they release the next patch fixing it. She’s too powerful just like every other leaders hen first released. They use the community to test how to balance the character.

Don’t think I lost to Serena yet.!? Didn’t win with her either… WEAK.

She’s not impossible to beat but god dann is she the most annoying leader to face

I play ship, and I try to keep her occupied by harassing with the honor guard. It makes for an excellent hero and building assassinator thanks to the high move speed and cloak.

It’s not impossible, unless they use a certain broken mechanic. Maybe some of the top players have found other exploits, but you’re not always likely to play against the top 10 or so.

Spread your units a lot. A lot.
Air works well, as it negates many of her freeze passives.
Suicide grunts/rangers for cryo troopers.
Definitely use your hero.

Forge is the only way I can think of. Jerome probably melts against her, but I haven’t tried it. Kinsano is decent at rushing, maybe try her? You’d expect that fire>ice, but this is Halo. No place for logic here.

locust or hunters. depends on which leader. the bison is a modified kodiak basically. it attacks both air and land units, but it deals mostly freeze damage.

use anders and build kodiaks with sentinel beacon. her base melts faster than ice in the summer. wolverines will keep the frost ravens away and you can use sentinels for sight lines since they cant be targeted by most of her units. kodiaks and softserve spewers are ground only unless the kodiak hasnt deployed and sentinels are fast enough to run away and cheap enough to lose without burning into your resources.

I see how that could be useful, but I’m mainly talking about that 3-4 minute rush. Using Kodiaks requires me to get to tech 2 fast enough and have time to set at least 4 up

Colony along with some engineer skitters wipes the bison. I suggest trying to fight the bison in open field preferably not near a power node Serena has captured. And then wait for the bison to lock down then move out of its range. The colony beam can range down the bison. You can also just Tank the ice damage and heal with the engineers and keep popping those engineer shields.
Atriox you can stun the bison and build some choppers to ram as well. Also need engineers
decimus same thing combined with vortex power and engineers.
Shipmaster and Arbitor are a little more difficult. I hear it takes about 12 ghosts to take out the Hog or bison.

right right. i’ve covered that on another post, but if you look at the math it takes to do the ice cube rush you’ll see that it’s too expensive and easy to prevent. ice cubes at level 1 have 6 hp bars (i think i said 4 on the other post so i’ll have to correct that) cost 100 supplies and 40 power. supply pads cost 150 and generators cost 200 scaling up from there. you start with 2-5 units and 600 supplies/400 energy. the second point is awarded at 3-5 ish minutes and she leaves her base completely vulnerable by not getting the chill aura for turrets. you get 50 ish supplies and energy per gather node. watch towers sensor towers are 100 supplies. turrets are 300 supplies. grunts are 100, marines are 150. ghosts are 230/15, rabbits are 220/15, and choppers are 245/15. it takes roughly 20/30 seconds to get 100 supplies/energy from the resource buildings not including the build time or upgrades.
as a unsc leader serina doesnt have access to any form of healing tier 1 prior to 3rd skillpoint. she’s got fewer core infantry to start with and her jack rabbit is the weakest of the 3 types of scouts (not including the sentinel) it takes about 30 seconds of combat inside of the freezing zone to become frozen depending on your unit. heavier units have larger chill meters as you’d expect. (grunts for example take about 5-10 seconds to freeze) within that time you should be able to destroy her ice blocks.
you have to play differently than you’re used to, but defend your base. it’s basically that simple.
edit
also i keep forgetting to say this, but air units are immune to ground chills. and just because a unit is frozen doesnt mean it cant be healed.
