I have completed some of the hardest, not proud of how I did some but 343i were asking for stuff like that to happen when you make the mongoose hard to kill. Launching the mongoose off the cliff while I shoot them on Complex is pretty much me giving the finger to that commendation.
Where am I supposed to get the Binary Rifle, it rarely shows up which is a good thing when I don’t want the other team using it on me but bad when I need to get kills with it to complete the commendation.
I really don’t want to do the Knight Commander and Crawler Sniper commendations because the Knight Commander’s highest number on a map on easy is 3-4. and I have 260 more to kill and the Crawler Sniper highest number on a map is 12 and I have 1901 left to kill. 343i may not realize it but they are evil b@st@rds. Still not as bad as Halo Reach but at least they mixed campaign and firefight for enemy type kills. They just don’t want me doing the kill and restart trick. If you can do this in the title update, patch the enemy kills into Campaign, maybe I can kill 2 birds with 1 stone and finish the game on Legendary.
Oh 1 final request. ADD THE SCORPION TANK TO VALHALLA
You get experience through commendations. I honestly don’t see why people grind for them and whatnot…and lol I wouldn’t hate them just cause they’re hard to get.

Plasma Pistol, and Mongoose Destroyer have to be the hardest.
The others require time and patience to complete.
I’m not sure why they thought destroying the strongest vehicle, (it seems like), and getting kills with the weakest weapon was a good idea.

sometimes I wish I could put the map into exile.
I like the map, but it grates on my nerves when it is played repeatedly. Dominion has to be the worst for doing it, closely followed by BTB.
All ordnance weapons have 5 levels for a total of 365 kills per weapon.
All Primary Loadout weapons have 7 levels for a total 1935 kills per weapon.
All Secondary weapons have 7 levels for a total of 940 kills per weapon.
I’m 130 right now and I really don’t like working towards my Commendations. I’d rather just play Custom Games with my friends or something, or work towards making my Service Record look really pretty.
Commendations just feel like a chore and a boring element of the game to keep you playing as you level up pretty fast in Halo 4.
I just feel that the commedations could be illustrated a lot better, and have more detail to them.
Such as when looking throught the commendations- the picture is a always a Pistol no matter what weapon you have highlighted.
When looking at spree’s or Multikills, or anything, it highlights what medals contribute to the commendation: but it does not tell you which medals you have actually earned or are still outstanding or how many of one perticular medal you have aquired.
The commendation screen could have been so much better, giving info and pictures of the weapons, vehicles or enemies the commendation is based on.
Just another example of how Halo 4 has evidently been rushed, giving only the basics with no aesthetics whatsoever.
However:
I do like the commedations as they give reason to broaden you experience and use a multitude of weapons. I have mearly maxed out my DMR commedation, so now i will turn to the BR or Carbine instead.
To conclude: The commendations are what you make of them, and the way you approach them only reflects your personal character. You cant blame 343 for promoting grinding, boosting and fowl play - that is just the way you decide to use them.
Others are perfectly happy to use them as a way of broadening thier experiences within the game.
I usually ignore commendations, unless I’m super close to getting one. Then I push for it.
I just play the game because I like playing the game, and the achievements and commendations come naturally to me.
Of course, sometimes grinding can even turn out great. Intentionally getting “This is my Rifle, This is my Gun” was hilarious fun. Running around fighting everything in level 3 on Legendary while keeping an empty Magnum in my back pocket.
But I do have your completionist urges, so no need to ignore the above stuff. I do want to somehow get all Commendations and Achievements, along with a LASO solo victory, but I enjoy this game enough to take my time and just enjoy the challenge.
I feel that commendations are one of the very few things that REACH/Halo 4 actually added that were cool.
In 4 though, the rewards are dumb. Why would they not add weapon skins for mastering a loadout weapon!?! Why no forerunner-ques armour for getting the commendation for using using all forerunner weapons? I mean who decided to put a different armour skin for some of them? It’s ridiculous really how terrible some of the rewards are.
In short: The idea of commendations is good, the reward in most cases isn’t worth it…at all.
The best way to get Binary kills is to get the Binary Rifle . Now , I know that sounds like I’m being sarcastic , but hear me out because all I’m saying is by any means necessary . When you see an enemy who has it , stealth their way quickly , and take what’s rightfully yours . When you see a team-mate’s gotten their hands on it , sad to say , run them over with a Ghost or Warthog . Like I said , bi-nary means necessary . Kill them , kill them all , anyone who has it . And hope for it .
