Halo announced a special Spartan coating exclusive to GameStop a little while ago. What you have to do is buy any Xbox or Halo related merchandise at GameStop starting on November 9th. Seems simple. However, when I went in there to get it the employees had no clue what I was talking about. I had to sit there for 10 minutes debating with them that it was a real thing. They finally looked it up on Google or Twitter and said “Yeah. Its a real thing, but we have no clue how to give this code to you. You would be making a gamble to buy this Halo merch (it was just Halo 5 which I already have) and assume you get the code somehow. We have no clue how to print this code for you.” So I decided against it.
I already own every Halo game and all the Halo merch they had available, so I would just be wasting my money if I didn’t get the code. I’m really frustrated. I’ve tried really hard to get every reasonable Halo Infinite promotional code except for the action figures that are impossible to find for the retail price. Did really no one communicate to them about their EXCLUSIVE HALO INFINITE codes? I have 1 GameStop in the 4 cities near me. I didn’t even like going to this one because of Covid since I have a compromised immune system, but I went right when they opened to lessen the chance of being around others. The GameStop coating codes aren’t on eBay so I assume I’m not the only one having this issue? Was this brought up on the forums already? Sorry if it was. I’m just genuinely curious if there’s something I can tell them to do so I can get my code.
As of yet, none of the near infinite, pun intended, GameStops near me have any information on the promotion. I think that they may wait till the game actually releases. This is coming from a store manager in my area that is also looking to get a code for himself.
