30 meters is about 98’. I’ve been killed a good few times by people less than 30’ from me who were moving and they were most definitely not on the radar. I don’t know if it’s map specific, but I’ve only noticed this on Truth and Regret so far.
Anyone else been getting quirks with the radar not functioning at its advertised 30m range?
only in laggy games, which at this point is quite alot.
yeah man! my friends called my blind lol
but there is definitely some issues with radar registering enemies a little late
Well, at least it isn’t just me!
By the way, sort of update on this: I played a few more matches today and I haven’t run into this on Eden once. And I’ve been looking for it.
Y’know, unless it just hasn’t come up because it’s so tight quarters that you mostly get beaten or sworded to death… That could well be it. Will keep watching. Lemme know if anyone else sees anything noteworthy on this now that I know it’s not just my end.
I feel like the radar is incredibly short ranged in this game. Maybe its because of the bigger map sizes, but now it offers almost no value since it’s easy to tell if someone is near you. Its current range is pretty much within the enemy’s visual sight no matter what.
I think the range needs to be increased just a little bit but not a lot- 5-10M maybe to take into account for spring & map size. but on the other hand I do like the ability to ambush & that would make that a little bit harder

I agree with you, and I have run into some issues with the radar either showing an enemy that wasn’t there, or not showing an enemy that was there.
I have been noticing issues with the radar. It hasn’t been displaying enemies close to me like it did with the beta. I’m talking like enemies 10 feet away… they should be shown on the radar. As a Halo fan since the beginning these things bother me. I am all for a fair playing field, but when I can’t tell if someone is directly behind me and about to assassinate me, I dont stand a chance much like many other players. Please fix the radar and increase the range… not sure what it was for the beta but it seemed perfect when I played it.
right now the radar is pretty useless
Radar is useless and compounded with the woeful aiming acceleration/slow sensitivity and your chances of surviving an assault from behind are very slim. I cannot believe the game shipped like this TBH. If they didn’t like radar they should have just killed it and stood by that decision.
the radar is so jacked up in this Halo
Wow every thread I see is about the radar lol, but yeah I hate the range to very bad
Radar range was reduced to 18 meters for the game’s launch (as explained in this video: Strategy, Substance and Style: Halo 5 Advanced Tactics - YouTube), which was a move for the worse in my opinion.
Why fix what isn’t broken? Did anyone have any issues in the past with the radar… me personally no. It was the way it should be a decent range and updating any movement nearby.

No one complained in the beta, we are complaining now because it’s been significantly reduced since the beta. This isn’t that hard to follow.

That’s why he’s saying don’t fix what isn’t broken. He’s comparing it to the beta saying it was much better then than it is now as was said in his previous post. It’s just a reiteration. This isn’t that hard to follow.
