I mean, would it suck to have a project that you’ve been working on for about 3 years being torn apart by your “loyal” fans or to have it taken and shown off by “trusted” individuals. I know I would hate it.
But in all honesty. I love how the game looks right now, I love the new ideas they are bringing into the game, I love everything about this game and I hav’nt even gotten my hands on it yet.
Three cheers to 343…
…Three cheers to a better Halo.
They are in a very precarious yet opportunistic position. They just need to find a middle ground between those loyal fans and newcomers to the series. Admittedly, I’ve been a fan of the series and have started playing Halo since 2001, but I’m definitely open to the changes we’re seeing in Halo 4 so far.

> Nope! They should stand by what they’ve made and I can’t feel sorry for them if people hate it.

im saying i would hate to have something ive worked on for a while be bashed on
> No, not at all. They’re taking a risk by building upon the awful mechanics Bungie added through Reach.
They saw potential in Reach; I’m sure we all did. They did take a risk and I respect them for it. There is still hope and I rather aid 343 on or give constructive criticism then insult and flame them. Things like 343 are not listening, no hope for halo 4, it’s dead and they suck are not the behavior 343 should be receiving for criticism. Where are people’s manners?
I think part of their issue may be that they assumed the new additions of Halo: Reach would be accepted and loved by everyone when they started working on Halo 4.

I’m split on this. In a way I feel the game is going to be bad, but the more information I see I’m getting a feeling in the pit of my stomach it’s going to be amazing. Kind of weird because it’s usually the opposite way with things.
I feel sorry for them in that they have to retain many elements of prior Halo’s, they have a lot less freedom as a result.
To be honest from what has been shown so far Halo 4 just looks like an evolution of Reach which is all well and good unless you didn’t like Reach.
They’re never going to be able to please everyone and I think it’s unlikely Halo 4 will appeal to all the fans of the prior games as it appears to be a very different from Halo CE, 2 and 3.
I honestly couldn’t care less about the story after Bungie butchered it in Halo Reach, introducing Masterchief to “superior” SPARTANs is a mistake in my book. More does not necessarily = better.
No I don’t feel bad for them, they knew they were taking on this incredible challenge and they knew they were going to get back both positive and negative feedback. Theres a lot of passion in this game, both from the developers and the fans. The developers want to make the next big Halo game and thats what the fans expect. I don’t feel bad for them, they are doing their jobs thats they wanted to do.

Well it makes sense, doesn’t it? They started development before the release of Halo Reach, so they most likely assumed people would like the new features.
