There’s one thing that seems to be missing from what he said.
the whole part about it costing money and them needing money is accurate, corporate America and private companies and whatnot, sure, but I don’t think Ske7th realizes that the money he is talking about comes from me, and I will only ever buy the premium battle pass if it’s good as I do like supporting the game, but I vow never to buy anything from the store, ever.
Lol at Halo while other games like Apex have it where if you buy the premium battle pass once, and complete it all, or even like 90% of it, you get your monies back in value in their in-game currency to buy the next battle pass for free if you wanted and held onto that currency. That shows dedication and care towards a community. But Apex just kept coming out with operators every season which was good, but if someone were to start playing today then Apex is hella expensive too if you want to unlock everything. So there’s the fine line is definitely a fine line, and I just don’t like Infinite’s line it’s drawing BUT Infinite is all about cosmetics where other games like Apex actually change the play style. And I can do without cosmetics and just want an all black Spartan with all black weapons anyways, so I won’t ever be buying anything from the store. No thanks.
they still have the Creator Store, selling mods. They released the Skyrim Anniversary edition that used half-broken mods they stole from creators.
It’s already happened and most likely will again.
Tbh, at this point, there is nothing anyone can do. The game is set in stone on how it is designed and 343 showed their entire player base that they had no problem lying to our face, and even put on a smile while they were doing it.
So the question stands, what else are they lying about? You know, things like the assassinations. Are they holding them back to sell through the shop later? I can almost guarantee that they have a boatload ready to go since the CM says this is their new model.
Lying seems to be a trend with a lot of companies these days, making false promises to sucker their player base.
Yeah and monetization as a whole clearly affects the actual gameplay in terms of available playlists and the like. Just because I don’t care about cosmetics doesn’t mean “I’m in the wrong thread”.
people don’t realize that by the end of the day IT REALLY REALLY DOESN’T MATTER.
I don’t care that it’s a staple of Halo because by the end of the day, if the gameplay is fun then it’s a good game. If you really want all these cosmetics then pay up.
Doesn’t change the fact that 343 is playing the victim card and trying to gaslight everyone about this game, that they’ve let languish in development hell for 6 years.
Purchasing items in the shop is voluntary. People get paid for the work they do and consumers can choose to pay them.
You however run into problems when you offer a product of low value and put it up into a price range that doesn’t reflect that. People are suddenly not so inclined to do any purchases.
Arguing about the price of cosmetics is a red herring. Anyone enjoying the limited playlist selection? The challenge and battle pass system? Because guess what, that’s all based around monetization.
