The lack of news is partially the reason they temporarily shut down HaloGAF, no news was driving people crazy and tearing the community apart. It has been a frustrating wait, but at least I have the Halo: Escalation comic series to look forward to as the months go by.

The thing is though. For the people who really like the multiplayer side of Halo. (Me) there’s nothing to keep us occupied whatsoever. I wish I loved Halo enough to read all the literature but I don’t. I just want to know when, in what game, and who ill be shooting on my new Xbox One
Well we’re barely past March 5th, credit bets (not really) a succinct plot leak. The official confirmation, secondary, but nonetheless a tidbit of information to go by.
Again, possible non-substantial information tidbits.
I actually had the feeling they weren’t going to release anything till the Titanfall hype train and release is over. Microsoft I think will try to emphasise on their exclusives as much as possible one by one to hype up the Xbox One for as much time as possible. That’s my theory. As much as I hate it
We have to wait until E3, technically no Halo game has been announced yet, we only got a trailer to say the franchise was moving onto Xbox One.
We’ll most likely get a teaser for Halo 5 this year and maybe the reveal of Halo 2: Anniversary, then, next year some Halo 5 gameplay before it finally being real eased at the end of November 2015…
That has been Halos regular pattern, so that is how I think it’ll happen.

As much as I’d like to agree with you and hope this is how it will happen.
I think there’s just too much evidence that Halo 5 is the next Halo. OXM saying so, the Halo 5 titled E3 trailer. Microsoft Australia’s post as said before talking about Promethean’s and yet again Halo 5. as much as I think Halo 2 Anniversary could be announced with little information and thrown into the gaming scene Like Halo 1. I think there’s just too much info that Halo 5 will be this year. That and all pre-order dates would be wrong on all websites. But that’s just placeholders at work

I hadn’t heard about this leaked status! What did it say?

I just remembered that we can’t discuss leaks or anything of the sort of the forums. There’s no point if the thread just gets locked
After Halo 4 I feel 343 owes us something. A simple statement like a No Sprint option at launch would go a long way. Every bulletin upsets me. I don’t enjoy Halo 4 one bit so new playlists don’t mean anything to me(they never even tried a No Sprint playlist). However I understand weekly updates are great for people who still like Halo 4.
That being said if we have to wait until E3 that means we wont have to wait long to play what we see. 343 could be building the ultimate hype train.
Best case scenario: 343 announces the next Halo releasing a beta on the day of E3.
I know i am. and i really dont understand why their doing this. i can think of only a few reasons.
1.343 is not at a stage were they can show it yet(if this is true than im shocked seeing as how they’ve had so much time since the reavel and even before it.
343 is at a stage were they can show us but want it to be a huge big surprise without any mistakes(I hope its this reason. they’ve had all this time so i hope the wait will be worth it)
343 is trying to build up hype(if they are trying to do this than there doing it wrong. everyone is not getting hyped,we’re just getting frusturated, annoyed, and bored)
either way we have no choice but to wait. which stinks
The only reason anyone’s tired of waiting is because Halo 4 was a disappointment. Halo 3 and Halo Reach were both announced over a year and a half after their predecessors’ releases. Halo Xbox One was announced only seven months after Halo 4’s release. To this day, Halo 4 is only 16 months old. According to precedent, we shouldn’t have seen E3 2013’s announcement trailer until a few months from now.

Where did it say anything about Halo 5 in the OXM? All I saw was a bunch of mumbo jumbo about the creative art director leaving blabla with the only Halo 5 bit being the concept art that was released awhile ago.

Buy Battlefield 4 and Titanfall, you won’t be bored for ages.
People seem to forget the much longer wait times, with much less information revealed by Bungie that we had to suffer through.
If anything the fact that we have received any info on the next Halo title at all is unusual considering Halo 4 is only like a year and a half old.
Edit: Also, do you people REALLY want them to “just drop the game now” and release some half–Yoink- unfinished product like they did with 4? Because I sure as hell don’t. If anything I think they need to take more time to make the finished Halo game the community deserves.
