Anyone else think The Repulsor looks really BAD when equipped?

I noticed it during the Tenrai event, that it just looks… bad. It’s bulky, but not stylish. To the point that I thought it was a graphical bug.

I THINK they were going for a sci-fi buckler type thing, but it just looks like a big, dumb box floating above your wrist.

I would encourage the team at 343 to take this design back to the drawing board.

Sometimes easy to recognize from a far is better thrn looking cool. It’s a practical design. We have to know what it is so we know how to engage.

This pretty much sums up what I think about the device. It’s actually the only one I have a chance of spotting from a distance (ignoring the overshield and active camo) which is nice when I’m holding a rocket launcher.

Have you honestly had players repulsing your rockets? I haven’t had it used against me yet in any way other than trying to get me off the map.

Yeah, no. I might not like it, but this is a classic case of “function defines form.” It’s a big scary gravity plate thingy that can launch me off the map, so I’d like to know who does and doesn’t have it. :]

I would almost agree with that, except it’s the ONLY one noticeable, when I would argue that the GrappleShot is far more important to recognize from a distance. Or even the dash, to know if a person is worth pursuing or if they’re already too far away and leading you into a trap.

The Grappleshot, Drop Shield, and Thruster are pretty inconspicuous to other players if you aren’t actively using them, so I wouldn’t mind the Repulsor being a bit smaller.

It might kind of dumb if it was a teeny tiny thing pushing stuff backwards though.

I like the design of the repulsor, but agree that it looks a little bulky.

It’s basically a sonic subwoofer but for gravity so it should be large like a gravity hammer. Looks fine imo
