Anyone else think Double XP is a bad idea?

I promise I am not trying to start a rage thread, but hear me out.

As far as we know, Halo 4 does not have a re-enlist or “Prestige mode.” So why would you want to reach the max level quicker, and bring the Halo 4 multiplayer experience to an end sooner? I’m not trying to say people are going to stop playing H4 when they reach the max level, but a lot will complain and say there’s nothing left to unlock or do. I have 34 matches of double XP racked up, but i’ve decided against redeeming the extra 30 codes i have left because i don’t want to reach max level right away. If it turns out there is a re-enlist mode, than no worries.

Anyways, what are your personal opinions on this? Does anyone else think this double xp thing is a bad idea? I know it won’t really matter in the end cause everyone will reach max rank sooner or later, but I think we should all enjoy the Halo 4 multiplayer experience instead of just rushing to the end.

  • Also i finally made it to an Eclipse rank, so I am not one of these people who are all about the ranks, otherwise I’d be an afk inheritor bro haha*
  • Also I played Halo 2 religiously (more than other halo games), and there was nothing to unlock. It was just an amazing game

If you’re at Eclipse right now, I wouldn’t bother worrying about double xp and what it’s going to do to your Halo experience.

I’ll take your codes, homie! Just PM me them raw or send them over via Facebook if you’ve already entered them on the website.

A lot of people including me will continue to play at SR-130 as long as the matchmaking stays good.

Dude, I feel I played a LOT of Reach, and I’m only a Field Marshall.

Wait. I thought the people of this forum don’t need any kind of incentives. They play the game because it is a good game.

For me the Halo experience isn’t about rank. It’s the fun of playing for me.

I think it could be have been implemented much better than it currently is.
Here’s looking at you, codes on the outside of chip bags.

I can guarantee you they will come out with new specializations in the future to lengthen the amount of gameplay people have to address your first point.

Secondly, double xp. is harmless. It is a temporary tool to enhance the amount of people playing and add enthusiasm in the game.

Well, I for one feel like they shouldn’t do the double xp thing at the beginning, but maybe have some double xp weekends or promotions like this after everyone has leveled up a little bit.

But, I’m stocking up on double xp games either way, so I can get all the stuff unlocked as soon as possible just so I can make all 5 of my classes totally the way I want them. And I’ll definitely continue play it after I reach SR-130.

Nah, I don’t disagree with it. I personally don’t care about it either way, but I guess let people have their fun with it.

> For me the Halo experience isn’t about rank. It’s the fun of playing for me.

This. I get ranking up is part of the experience, but if I can keep having fun with the game then I’ll keep playing it.

i’ll take em if you honestly dont want them would be great of you, just 2 would be nice i got screwed earlier i entered a doritios and mtn dew but it didnt give me the combo bonus.

thanks if ya do.

personally i see it as

200 double xp matches = 400 regular matches

and if it’s equivalent to reaches progression then that’s a mere drop in the bucket.

but of course this is subjective to amount per game.

sorry dbl post dont mind this

You’re forgetting that commendations aren’t based on XP. That will keep dewrito boosted SR-130’s busy if diabeetus doesn’t killem first.

I am keeping my body and XP progression pure. I like reliable metrics.

just play 2 matches, thats double XP.

Well in my opinion, i don’t really care, it’s a new game, i prefer taking it slowly to catch up this new things.

dbl post forget what you saw
