Anyone else switch control schemes several times?

Has anybody else switched control schemes in Halo 5 or in Halo in general?

I’ve always used default until halo 5. At first I switched to “Halo 4” control scheme because I wanted zoom on right thumbstick & grenade on left trigger. Because Halo.

Then I decided I really wanted crouch on left thumbstick so switched to recon. But then I was having difficulty with melee, having to lift my thumb off the right stick & press b. Also made ground pounds really difficult.

So now I’ve settled on Hell jumper. It was weird at first but now that I’m used to it, being able to jump, crouch, & melee without taking any thumbs off the sticks is great. With melee on the right stick, I’m no longer coming short on all my melee fights. And as much as I originally wanted to stick with zoom on the right stick because it feels more Halo, it actually throws my aim off a little and zoom on left trigger just works better.

Anybody else bit the bullet and moved away from more “traditional” controls?

Been on bumper jumper for quite a long time. It works out perfectly for the way that I play.

Just use the default I like never change my control scheme

Recon, always used that

Agree with ground pounds, but I rarely do them!

I use Recon because I started with Halo 3, tbh I have no issues ground pounding or meleeing, just use your right thumb for B, and your left thumb over to the right stick. It’s a bit of a stretch but the average length thumb can do it, make ground pounds and melees no problem.

I’ve played around with a few, but I’ve stuck with the “reclaimer/Halo 4” controls since they were introduced in Reach. I know they were a little different then (crouch and grenade switching were different) but the key aspects of them are the same (reload, shoot, grenade toss, switch weapon, jump, melee, etc.)

I never liked Halo 3’s controls and I prefer melee to be on the bumper rather than “B” like it was with CE and Halo 2.

Weird thing is, I can’t get used to Left Trigger zoom for Halo. I do it in other FPS games like Farcry and Battlefront, but when I’m playing Halo, that trigger is for grenades and grenades only.

I always find going from Halo to other games and back a pain in the backside, forever grenading myself!

I have played the default from the start. Tried to switch to bumper jumper and hell jumper, but just could not get used to it. I will try to do the campaign again with the new setting to see if that works.

I use to play default until bumper jumper was introduced in H3. Been playing it ever since but with Halo 5 I seem to can’t find a scheme to suit me. It feels like a cluster of crap with the addition of thruster. Only way to have a good scheme I feel comfortable with would be to get an elite controller. Not going to drop 150 though

I can’t justify dropping 150 on a new controller as well.

I’ve changed several times, but always go back to default. But in Reach and 4 I switched to Recon and never went back.
