Anyone else suck in PvP after Wrecking Bots?

Pretty frustrated because I had like 6/7 perfections throughout the bot testing and I jump into PvP and get my -Yoink- handed to me.

I know there’s no real skill matching for this, but I found myself struggling to stay positive most games and even a few just sucked absolute balls.

Was this like anyone else?

Also it made me realize I’d appreciate a weapons drill for each gun that had bots jumping around. The lack of jumping from the bots compared to actual players made aiming more difficult for me.

You may have fallen into some bad habits when playing against bots. But it’s all good, when PVP becomes the main mode you’ll find those good habits again!

Performance took a hit for sure. Players are really smart. I would argue that more top end players are playing so it’s more condensed with skill levels.

Yeah that’s fair. I found myself hunting the next dpawsns with bots and running all throughout the map.

PvP I was playing way to conservative, and the radar not detecting walking speed really effected me. Fingers crossed to reverting that back to normal.

overall I was able to hold my own 2/3 of the time, but playing on an original xbox one with low FPS really sucked when going up against PC players/teams.

It just left a sour taste in my mouth which isn’t how I wanted to go out with this first flight

Bots can help you get good to a certain extent but nothing actually beats playing try hards. You gotta learn how to sweat and crouch hide behind corners with a needler like human players do.

Id have to agree with you there. I assume a lot of the best halo players and just great gamers in general are in here and not a lot of casuals to help balance the playing field.

I played one game that was pretty even on Live Fire. And then I got just flat out wrecked in two games by teams that seemed like they were pretty obviously communicating over mic’s, while my team seemed like they weren’t very used to a 4v4 Halo match…

No one was trying to move in 2’s or hold any areas together. My team mates were just sprinting into the middle of Bazaar and getting mowed down by BR’s over and over again .

I’m not honestly one to complain often, as I find it’s usually better to just adjust to the reality… but the radar as it functions now is going to be VERY harsh on solo que players

Can’t agree with you anymore about the radar situation. I get if you want to keep it how it is in “ranked”/competitive playlists, but your “social slayer” playlist should have the original radar system.

also with the radar how it is now there’s literally no point to crouching. You used to have to give up mobility for stealth - cost/reward. Now you can keep the stealth and move 5% slower than a sprinter.

Naw I had fun

Xbox One x and with randoms. I just got the BR and commando rifle every time.

Ahhh that’s fair. I tried to go for my BR but it’s more difficult to secure in PvP for sure

I never gamed on a PC purely console player. I was playing on the original Xbox one and I just felt like I was at a big disadvantage against PC players/specifically their accuracy shooting across map.

hopefilly in the final build you can customize search preferences to focus on matching with fellow console players. Especially if you’re not teaming up with buddies.

I have a feeling crouching reduces recoil, but I doubt honestly want to waste preview time testing that. It could change, and I’d rather enjoy the game .

But yea, as a solo que player, even when I try to support team mates and not just go 1 vs the world, I find that the second your spawn is offset with your other 3 team mates, you’re just getting 1v2’d out of nowhere constantly. And I don’t sprint barely at all, so I shouldn’t be on radar most of the time.

Yeah half the joy of Halo is being able to hold a position watch your back with your radar and when you see someone or two approach from behind drop a grenade off a wall and one shot them.

The only thing that really tik me off was the super lunges. And somebody literally running through me and I try to beat them down and I just lose complete track of them and then they randomly beat me down inside me. Lol

Oh yeah that happened to me a few times where I lost track of someone for the beat down because they like “moved?” Through me…

i think it’s because of map scale, everything is tight close quarter combat and verticality of the maps really put your skill to the test, you often get a chance to escape or eliminate the 2 or 3 people, i think halo infinite is one of those games which 2 k/d actually means you are among the best players.
you will eventually get better at the game so don’t worry about it and have fun.
